Yess I finally finished not long ago chinguuu. The ending is an ok ending and short reviews verdict 7.5/10 im nice. All about couples chemistry and sexy Rowoon. Honestly everything else was badly executed I still think this drama was a mingle messy writer producer editing didn't do an good job. Positive things that bitchhh NA YEON GETS WHAT SHE DESERVES. Same for 'South winds knows my mood' I rate 7.5/10 for the couples but disappointed about bad people get mostly good ending compare to the leads ultra rush bullshit. What an long ride many flaws not perfect anyway what can we do about I find myself rating high also for completing the distance. I'm an little petty but I can possibly leave my 8.5&8.0  for every dissatisfaction I have yk what im saying when you watch like me.

I just watched that trailer for the first time in months.  There IS a lot of XL / FFB in that trailer.  But I can't believe how much of it is scenes from season 2.  I was amazed at that Who should I marry?  Is that in the book?

XY doesn't ask XL/FBB who she should marry if not Feng Long in the novel, but there is a somewhat similar line in chapter 29.

Xiao Yao softly asked, “Bei, tell me…..why is it so hard to find a person to walk the path with?”

Fang Feng Bei said, “Finding a person isn’t hard, finding a person who shares the same interests, genuinely treats you well, and makes the journey more interesting, that is what is hard.”

Xiao Yao asked, “Can one never forget a person for an entire life?”

“Depends on the person. If you are talking about Jing, then I think it’s highly possible.”

“Do you mean he can’t forget me, or I can’t forget him?”

Fang Feng Bei smiled. “However you want to interpret.”

Xiao Yao furrowed her brows and angrily said, “There are a lot of good men left in the vast wilderness!”

“There are plenty of good men, but there aren't many who will really put you inside his heart.”

“What do you mean? So I shouldn’t marry Feng Long?”

“I don’t mean anything. You asked me so I honestly told you my thoughts.”

“Xiang Liu, I really don’t know, what is your heart thinking deep down inside?”

“You and I are travelers who have crossed paths in this windy world. Whenever we meet we are each other’s companions to enjoy the world is all! Why do you care what I think deep down inside?”

Xiao Yao mocked herself “Yes, it’s my over-thinking! No matter what you feel deep down inside, none of it has anything to do with me!”

Xiang Liu stared down the dark alley and said nothing.

I also heard that their was tons more of their romance in the book, than in the movie. I'm not sure how that can be, cause I felt like I was drowning in their romance in the movie.  But apparently there's more actually kisses / touching than in the drama --- which we all knew was frustrating in the drama.

In the novel, there are many air-sharing "kisses" between XL and WXL (before she regains her true form) where WXL is conscious and it's a non-issue. There's also the forehead kiss in chapter 35 that will be changed in S2.

The bite scenes are different and XL licks the wound on XY's wrist after biting her there to stop the bleeding.

The 37 years in the clam shell are different, with XL embracing XY when he healed her, caressing her face, carrying her in his arms when he took her out to see the moon and to hear the merpeople's song.  

Several scenes that take place on land in the drama took place in water in the novel, with WXL/XY sitting in XL's lap or lying on top of him. She also lies on top of him (and falls asleep in his arms) in chapter 43, which has been cut from S2.

They also cut things that didn't involve touch but that were, IMO, just as important. Like XL occasionally visiting WXL for no reason except to keep her company in the early chapters after she says that she's scared of loneliness. And WXL getting worked up after every poison she creates fails to have any impact on him. And scenes showing the full extent of how much time XY spent with FFB and all the things they did together.

“People have seen it, but Xiang Liu is a Nine-headed demon, and rumor has it that he has nine real faces and also eighty-one different forms. All the people who have seen him have contradictory statements. One time someone described him to look exactly like Sixth Uncle.”

It could play out that way, but FFB didn't look that calm in that trailer.  Though I'm sure it will be another moment that will have me screaming at the TV, TELL HER!!!

XL in the novel appears (at least outwardly) to be way more stoic and impassive than XL in the drama. His expression is often described as inscrutable. Whereas even when TJC is mostly poker faced, his eyes alone are very expressive.
