Xiang Liu and You (Yes, You)

Should get Netflix or Amazon to buy it for overseas distribution. That and immortality. They look very good and sweet.

I haven't actually seen the rules, but my understanding is that the shows have to get a license to broadcast, which is where the censors say yes or no.  If it doesn't get a license, then they can't even sell it outside of China.  :(

I wake up to this new trailer in my feed, at least I haven‘t seen this before. LMLMV is coming (preferably next week and not 30.11, I pray). TJC channeling Shen Yi gentle side here and lots of kisses (looks pretty good too, not that dead fish kiss). Now this might be the ultimate green flag of character from what I saw in the trailer; gentle, nice, can cook, hardworking (he has two occupations after all), not the pseudo one we got from LYF. Hope I don‘t jinx this. 

@Kokuto: Love with Fireworks looks interesting too, but I heard Wang Churan got some backlash and doesn‘t have the best rep out there. I never watch her acting though, so I hope she‘s a decent one.

But yes, it looks like a very sweet character for Tan Jian Ci.  Listening to one of the promos, I think I understand one reason why he took this role.  The voice work ... good Lord.  He's definitely weaponizing his voice.

Yes, Wang Churan has gotten some backlash with her Yang Yang show, something with Fireworks in the title too.  She was prickly enough in The Longest Promise, where I saw her, that I think she can pull off sniping at Tan Jian Ci's character.  The romance and chemistry, however, I guess we'll see.

I'll only watch the remake if it ended with XL living and traveling the world with XY. Actually, he doesn't even need to end up with XY. Just let him live.

I feel like I'm stuck in this story. I said before how reading that fanfic with XY going back to the past and saving XL made me move on a little but not really. Every time I watch a new drama, Xiang Liu is always on my mind and I always compare the male lead to him :|

This picture is simply the best analogy...but I don’t want to escape like Xiang Liu in it haha~ I will continue to wait for other stories in this series after the second season is finished. Besides, could they please make that prequel again? I want to see the young King Haoling!

That's actually the remake that Tan Jian Ci proposed.  That he didn't return XY after the 37 years in the shell, but instead went traveling the oceans.  It would be called The Underwater Adventures!

That's the worst thing.  It's hard to move on to other dramas, when I keep comparing the leads to Tan Jian Ci. :(

Actually I remember TJC definitely said he wanted to learn to be a director. People, I've got a crazy idea...Would it be possible Tan will remake LYF for us ten or twenty years later, and then make up for the regrets of the show fans back then?? (Yeah I've lost my mind...)

I switched sides at the end of episode 30 when I saw Xiang Liu sacrificing one of his lives to save XY from death. I was so moved by his selflessness, I abandoned the YaoJing ship and swam to the YaoLiu ship :)

An understandable decision, particularly when you compared it to what Jing was doing at that moment. That's such a big, black mark against Jing for me.  

I know that people see things differently and YaoJing's fans obviously don't see this as an issue, but I'm really curious to know what their reasoning/take on this major point of Jing's character. I don't venture into the YaoJing thread, so can some of you ladies enlighten me on this point?

I think my comments supporting him spanned from episode 2 to 30. When I re-watched some of the show so I could make my gifs, I started making timed comments criticizing him ahahaha. People who are reading the comments are probably thinking I have a personality disorder and wondering

So you saying "I either love or loathe something" is such a Scorpio statement. 

It's just a bit of astrology fun. I went through a phase; and enjoyed it as a fun way to look at typical personality traits. It's particularly fun when you try to place fictional characters' star signs.
