Hi, I'm looking for some new(er) wuxia dramas. Unfortunately, nothing has really caught my eye recently.
Preferences:
focus on the plot and characters, cooperation
no overpowered MC, no big romance
more than eye-candy
preferably a journey, not staying in one place
no full-scale war, but rather meaningful adventures
honor/characters being torn between "the right thing" and "the comfortable thing"
bonus points if the characters are actually complex or change/mature on the way
no silly jokes like the Lanling Sect elders in Moonlight Mystique scrambling for money
I liked Condor Heroes (2008) (but not the 2017 version, it was too plastic, like "everyone looks like a model"), currently watching Fangs of Fortune, torn when it comes to Moonlight Mystique (I love the aesthetics, but the story seems too comedic at times). Dropped The Blood of Youth and Mysterious Lotus Casebook (I found them rather boring and too focused on aesthetics). I found Till the End of the Moon 10/10 and fun, Love Between Fairy and Devil turned boring in the second half.
