I love this kind of story too! That feeling where one person refuses to believe the other is gone and keeps searching is always so emotional, and the reunion is usually worth it.
I’d really recommend ASHES OF LOVE , it has a lot of longing, regret, and a very emotional reunion. THE LONG BALLAD is also great because the female lead stays strong and never gives up hope even when everything points to him being gone.
LOVE AND REDEMPTION is another good one, especially with how they keep losing and finding each other again, it really gives that “I will always find you” feeling. IMMORTAL SAMSARA and LOVE BETWEEN FAIRY AND DEVIL also have that strong separation, pain, and emotional reunion. ETERNAL LOVE (TEN MILES OF PEACH BLOSSOMS) is a classic for this kind of story, with multiple separations and finding each other again.
With BL, THE UNTAMED is amazing for the loyalty, waiting, and quiet belief that the other person is still alive. WORD OF HONOR, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN and HEAVEN OFFICIALS BLESSING also have that strong “finding each other again” feeling and really deep devotion.
For Hollywood movies, The TIME TRAVELER ’S WIFE has that constant waiting and searching for someone you love. COLD MOUNTAIN shows two people trying to find their way back to each other after a long and difficult separation. THE AGE OF ADALINE also has that feeling of lost love and finding each other again over time, and SAFE HAVEN and EVER AFTER have similar emotional and romantic vibes.
