I’m looking for dramas with a similar mature and emotionally layered romance like The Epoch Of Miyu

I loved how the relationships felt real, where characters make thoughtful, sometimes difficult choices, even if it’s not what you expect or initially want. I also appreciated the growth, especially from the female lead. I don’t want something overly childish or purely fluffy. I’m looking for romance that feels grounded, a bit intense, and meaningful, where the connection between the leads actually develops and makes sense.

It can be K-drama, C-drama, or Thai drama.

Bonus if:

  • The female lead is strong in a quiet, realistic way

  • The romance builds naturally (not rushed)

  • The story leaves a lasting emotional impact

Any recommendations?

Thank you! I’ve seen Just Between Lovers and really liked it, it definitely has that emotional depth I’m looking for. I’ll check out the others, especially The Rational Life and Twelve Letters. Appreciate this!

Thank you! The Wind Blows looks like it has the kind of emotional depth I’m looking for. Does it also have a strong romance focus?

Sorry, it has been quite a long time since I watched it, so I don't remember that aspect clearly, but I think so, yeah. Overall I remember it fondly and it stuck with me. It fits your description in the initial post really well, I think. That's why I posted the suggestion eventhough I didn't watch The Epoch Of Miyu yet.
