Male Protag who is secretive because of a tragic past.

So, what Im looking for is something with a male protagonist/lead who is secretive about his past, or kind of cool-y withdrawn because of some tragic past, like Eun Dae Goo from You're All Surrounded, or Choi Moo Gak from The Girl Who See's Scents. Some romance would be preferred, but isnt necessary, but if there is romance, I would like for it not to be a love triangle. Any theme/setting is fine, really.

Thanks for any help with this.

Unfortunately most that come to my mind do have a love triangle, at least at the beginning. But they are not particularly important and none are serious or continue to the end. In other words the main couple becomes obvious very early on.

@Luna, yes, that's ok if its not a serious love triangle, and thank you for the list, I will add them to my PTW and get on them as soon as I am done with what I am watching now (Bitter Blood, Jdrama)
