Silenced- hands down the saddest movie I ever watched. I was balling my eyes out during and afterwards. Nothing has wrecked me like this movie has and I'm sure nothing ever will.

the throne - great acting from both leads
Pandora exceptional acting and very sad.
Sunflower - incredibly underrated movie, a gem imo.
The man from nowhere - Action but beautifully heartwarming and teary ending.
I personally recommend:
Kikujiro- A bitter-sweet comedy with teary moments.
Like Father, Like Son- Interesting take on a real life issue. Directed by the same guy who did Nobody Knows.
Also A Distant Cry From Spring- The ending is heartbreaking.
The ThroneMaundy ThursdayHonorable mention: Burning (in some sides it is so sad, but beautifully sad)
Definitely Hope, which has been already recommended. Also Unforgettable had a sad wibe, made me cry at the end. I remember liking the soundtrack
