Quantcast

Just based for you, I'm just looking to watch some college / work settings

if you also don't  mind giving  short explanation on why :)

  • 3 Idiots -gives on lesson on what education is supposed to be. The funny, the singing and the bollywood dancing will sometimes give off a comedic and out of place theme. But deep down this is one of the most heart warming and inspiring movie on educatiin, life's purpose, plans for future, goals, lesson on not settling for what is enough but pursuing what is great.
  • Another one is Misaeng. if you are look at the work setting in which fresh grads, new workers and newly minted young adult is up for, in their first look into the adult and real world. This is it.  Very realistic, and speaks to most office workers.

Orange Days (college) Deals with a group of friends who are about to graduate and how they plan to live their lives. It's a romance so the main couple take up maybe 60% of the story but the other friends have their issues too. I loved it because it just felt so real and down to earth

Ie Uru Onna (workplace) This one is straight up hilarious- right off the bat. Tells about this quirky character who is the best real estate agent and her interactions with her co-workers.

Mr. Nietzsche in the Convenience Store (workplace) Funny characters who work/ visit a convenience store. Very light, not at all serious- I really enjoyed this one

Hanzawa Naoki (workplace) Serious drama about a man whose father committed suicide because of a (I think it was a bank) company. So when he grows up he enters the company to take it down but things happen- this is def a must watch. I believe this was the highest rated drama of the Heisei era and for good reason.

Master of Study actually motivated me to study more and stop procrastinating. Drinking Solo is one more example how college/university students can get frustrated about reality (education vs work). By the way, any recommendations on the best high school cyperpunk/dystopian dramas? I need some ideas for my second chapter, as I continue my cyberpunk story (initiative and Cyberpunk 2020 biotech - 365 fiction essay writer challenge).

Try Mr. HIRAGII'S CLASSROOM, a cyberpunk-kidnapping Highschool setting drama.

Also, How about movies, like Battle Royale and assassination classroom... For dystopian high school genre...
