I really liked Because This is My First Life (except for the last couple of episodes involving the main couple), so I would love recommendations for dramas similar to that. The themes of marriage, relationships, and family were interesting and I was surprised by how most of the episodes avoided a lot of the typical cliched misunderstandings/miscommunications that might be expected from the premise.
Must-have qualities:
- honest and communicative leads
- female lead not afraid of confrontation
- features grown, adult characters
Preferred but not necessary:
- modern day rom-com
- multiple leads (all friends)
- well-developed side characters
- can lead to deeper discussions on different themes (e.g. marriage/relationships)
- focus on growth within an existing relationship/within themselves
Do not want:
- completely naive/dumb leads
- love triangles, love squares, or anything like that
- unrealistic side plots out of nowhere over multiple episodes
- petty infighting/drama caused by bad communication over multiple episodes
- in-laws bullying leads
