SO embarrassed that I omitted one of my favourite Dramas - the one you listed where the lead had miracle neurosurgery that didn't touch his hair! :D

Hahaha only in dramas.

Though as death of leads go, you've mentioned MOB , and it willl always be the top.

I also forgot to recommend some of my fave dramas:

  • The devil/Lucifer
  • Iris
  • Sandglass
  • My beautiful bride

The last one, which I and my drama-squad all called My Beautiful Banker, is possibly uncertain. The very end  hints that all may not be as it seems. I don't mind either way, Days and Moons is my lasting takeaway from it anyway :)

  • I'm Sorry I love you
  • Mr. Sunshine

Does the ML dies in Come and Hug me? I don't remember that.

  • +1 The Smile Has Left Your Eyes - The leads have an immediate and dramatic connection that goes back to when they were young (although they don't remember each other). There is a murder investigation, more death, tragic backstory / bad parents, and doomed / ill-fated romance.
  • +1 Misty - There is a murder investigation, the FL has a brush with death / the law in her past, other investigations (from news reporters), and unrequited / tragic romance.
  • +1 Mr. Sunshine - Historical drama with romance, politics, and resistance / war / violence / assassinations (Japanese occupation). The FL chooses to dedicate her life to the resistance rather than living safely as a wealthy, married woman or having a happy relationship with the ML
  • Time - Modern drama involving an investigation into a young woman's death, revenge, and  very sad / unrequited  love / romance. Also terminal illness.

Other historical dramas:

  • The Princess Wei Young - Historical romance with some politics, war, murder, murder investigations, and a bit of revenge but the overall tone isn't that dark / isn't super similar to the dramas you listed. The FL's family is massacred and her country is taken over. She flees and the first friend she makes is killed. She takes that girl's place and gets revenge for the girl and seeks revenge for her family. She believes the ML's grandfather is responsible for her family's annihilation but later learns that someone else is responsible. At one point the FL is framed for killing the ML's mother
  • Empress Ki - Historical drama with romance, politics, violence, and revenge.
  • Bloody Romance - Historical fantasy with lots of murder / assassins and some romance. The FL is a bit weak for most of the drama.
  • The Hymn of Death - Historical drama with romance and politics (Japanese occupation).  In the end the leads choose to commit suicide together
