I did not watch  The Penthouse but I read a lot about it and spoiled it for myself. It is dark but not in a romantic type like Love in Sadness/ Summer Desire/Friends. It definitely has dark themes like bullying harassment, affair, revenge. If it has dark obsessive romance then please give me the details. However, I am going to start watching season 2 which is coming at the end of Jan because this is when Soo Ryun character becoming bada** and starts real revenge.  

Again, I did not watch "The World of The Married" because I watched a 15min youtube mv summarizing the story, and sounded similar to VIP so I was not interesting. The Husband to get obsessed after she left him towards the end. 

From what I read, sky castle sounds a little similar to The Penthouse. It has dark themes about the school,  bullying, peer pressure, and family relationships but no dark romance.
