Firstly, all of us are here because we enjoy Asian TV dramas and movies. So, some of us wish to contribute to the database. We are genuinely submitting titles that are real TV shows and movies, in accordance with the countries that MDL allows. Personally I do so simply because I wish to add a particular title to my watchlist.
However, I (and I believe a few others) tend to experience frustration with the system. Even though the show information is widely available on social media from the production company, half the time the approval staff will reject entries. And even when it is allowed through, it tends to take a long time for the title to actually be up.
And if I were allowed a moment of frankness, I do not understand the reasoning for such an extremely rigid process. Mydramalist is an entertainment site. It is not a bank, governmental or essential systems database where you get a ton of people or criminals attempting to target the system. We are talking about just submitting TV show titles where these are fictional shows that aren't real life for goodness sakes.
I get things like spam, bots and some random people who might not know what they are doing overly making unwanted entries into the system. So thus, I suggest limiting full freedom of submission to VIP members.
I hope MDL seriously reconsiders it's submissions process.
