My name is Hicham Touil, I’m 25 years old and a French history student at the Sorbonne in Paris. I discovered the world of Asian dramas three years ago and since then, I haven’t been able to stop to the point where it has truly become a passion.
Unfortunately, I took some time before starting to share this passion with others. I haven’t written a lot of reviews on kisskh or had a lot of discussions on forums. But this year, I’ve decided to take that step. I recently created a TikTok account dedicated to dramas (@kdramalibraryy) and in just three months, I’ve already gained around 2,000 followers and that’s without fully diving into trends, news, or viral content.
That’s when I realized something surprising: kisskh, the biggest Asian entertainment website and now also an app, doesn’t have a TikTok account! I truly believe that MDL would benefit greatly from having a presence there. Personally, I don’t check the website every day for updates, but on TikTok, it’s much easier and more engaging to stay informed. I think a TikTok presence would be a huge opportunity for MDL in terms of visibility, community engagement, and growth.
I know I might just sound like a fan throwing out ideas, and maybe nothing will come of this. But I felt I had to try and reach out, not necessarily to ask for something for myself, but to share what I think could be a valuable direction for MDL. But of course, I would genuinely love to have the opportunity to contribute to MDL in that way. While I know I’m not perfect yet, I already consume a lot of Kdrama content on TikTok, so I have a good sense of what works and what audiences respond to. I'm also a fast learner and always eager to improve which means I could grow even more in the future with the right guidance and experience.
