Restrict NEW accounts (less than 30 days) from rating or leaving a review

Reason for this is that this can be used by haters to drag down dramas or movies' rating. You can create an account and rate for hate purposes.

We can all see it happen. Not everyone here has good intentions. Lol.

A lot of people first join because they want to list and rate a specific show though. Who wants to join a new site to make a watchlist they can't even rate? Technically, by your rules, sure, they could go back and rate it all later - but who honestly has time for that when they could just go to another site? This is a great way to alienate new users and create a ton of dead accounts where people sign up and realise "oh, this is useless".

It would be better to have something like new accounts' ratings not being applied (to the general rating calculations) until they've added and rated a certain number of items to their watchlist, with the account being flagged for human review if its ratings are overwhelmingly negative.

Thank you. That is 100% correct. Another issue is that we cannot be completely transparent about it or confirm whether it is currently being applied, as people will abuse it even more.

I am ok with other variations of how this can be done, it just feels bad for those dramas who got or will get bombarded by haters just because they can. So any gate keepers will be good for me.

Isn't there a period of about a week when a new account cannot post links of any kind, be it feeds, comments, forums or profile page? Why not extend that to reviews and ratings? That would avoid the regular negative review bombings with new accounts, every time Islam is mentioned.
