Negative Points: Explanation Needed

I'm confused about the "points" system on MDL

My points have recently changed from zero to a negative number (-3), and I'm not sure what that signifies. Can anyone provide some insight?

I am also wondering about this. I have a (-1) for some reason, and have no idea what the points even mean. I looked around, but couldn't find any explanation other than a few posts about contribution points, rather than what we're talking about. 

Is this like Walmart? LOL. If we have too many negative points do we get fired..? lol. 

I'm glad I'm not alone in my curiosity. This odd concept of assigning positive and negative points for individual contributions reminds me of the Chinese social credit system that's rumored to assign scores to individuals based on their actions and penalize them for falling short. It'd be comforting to hear from the administrators and moderators of the platform that we won't be excluded or kicked out the same way for minor shortcomings

Can't quote your other post because it's too long... but I agree with your analogy as well... we have no explanation at all, and I can't find any prior explanations, so this is all very ominous. lol. 

As for Shin, I agree! Minato's Laundromat is one of the most underrated shows. And everyone seemed to hate it too... except for about 15 people. Somehow, it became something of a cult classic WHILE it was airing. I'd love to see a season 3 where they're still bickering with one another. The perfect slice of life comedy, with hidden strong emotions... what can get better than that? 

I also hope someone swoops in to tell us what is going on with our points. If we're on the chopping block, you're going first at -3. Orz

There's likely a simple explanation for this problem, and whatever it is, I hope it doesn't put our accounts at risk!

contribution points are for edits. 

They are talking about the point right under the icon. 

It is Karma points. At the moment, it doesn’t do anything, and negative values don’t mean anything either.
