Negative Points: Explanation Needed

I think I've just realized that... you can.. only see certain people's scores? I can't see yours. There was another person in this forum whose negatives points I CAN see, but I can't remember if it was before or after we friended each other. 

As for contributions, I've never made a contribution, and I have a negative 1. If these points supposedly work like reddit karma, then... how do I get a negative number if there's no... dislike button on comments? LOL
