I do not know Kokuto in real life and vice versa, but Kokuto was the one who once told me not to post certain photos because they were against the regulations. So I removed the photos, not argued with her.
I warned a few people that I knew posted alot of pics, that the rules had been updated and pics could be deleted, because I didn't want them to waste their time.
If you posted photos against MDL photos, then you should not be upset when someone informed you about that. I too posted unallowed photos and even got scolded by MDL's staffs here. If we make mistakes, we should check out the problem, instead of attacking the person who informed us. It has been like that from since I first posted photos on MDL.

I couldn’t quote the long post but wanted to add an option here. The gallery (photos tab of each title) is for official pics only, but if you want to share other photos from fan accounts, etc. (anything that does not directly come from the studio/cast/production team), the discussions on each page are where to put those. They are decluttering to both make the site look cleaner, more on par with IMDb, and perhaps also ease up the image server. Screenshots are still abundant on the site, just in feed posts and discussion tabs, often compressed heavily which ideally the next version of the site won’t do for official pics, profile shots and posters since that is always a bit saddening (ahem, admins?🙏). If the drama is The Early Spring, the discussions tab is where to put anything unofficial or things like heat indexes that are not gallery suited (those should mainly be official sharp shots from studios, some behind the scenes official shots okay but when sourced from official accounts, especially given how many non-studio [fan] accounts get shut down/deleted on social media whereas studio pages generally stay up indefinitely): https://kisskh.at/761231-zao-chun-qing-lang/discussions
If you are wondering why I am in this thread suddenly for a show I am not even watching, it is simply because I subscribed to this thread to be able to find it easily as I work through trying to get sources for my own photos and get blurry ones out of the gallery (no matter how cool a scene is, particularly since most people on here seem to either watch on illegal low quality sites or their phones with lower bandwidth and resolution, screenshots always look really rough beside the 4k+ resolution stills from studios, and it makes the gallery look pretty trashy to have it full of bad quality images; I don’t personally like behind the scenes shots much of the time because they are so unclear, and ones taken from across the street, posted by a passerby, are find to post in threads but not identify a show’s final product by). I don’t request removal of them but most look pretty out of place beside pics of the actual drama.
In any case, know that every time a post is put up here, lots of us get notifications, so sticking to the task at hand and asking the mod in charge of this would serve you better if your content is taken down and you don’t want to fight in public (that goes for anyone, not just the one whose pics got removed). Otherwise, you will all invite anyone and everyone to remark. Stick to what is in studio pages for there. Put other pics in the discussion tab full of forum posts and they won’t be removed or too easily lost (unless wholly inappropriate, of course ie advertising or lewd pics).
Feeds are good for reacting to the current ep of this or that you are watching but do disappear fast, so I recommend the discussion tab for anything you want to be found more than a day or two later. Happy drama watching!

Exactly. I do this myself for fan art (which I enjoy) or supporting actors (who get lost in a gallery stuffed full of bad reuters pics).
Not only is it about the look of the galleries, it's about using them. When you have 14,000 images in a gallery, how the heck do you find anything, much less check to see if you are posting duplicates?

This response will address your concerns and also provide additional guidance to others. Not all of the photos here are yours.
This response is being used to give some transparency into the decision making process, showcasing photos and the specific reasons why they will be removed. There will also be suggestions on what photos are allowed.
To clarify some misunderstandings at the start:
Some seem to think that photos published by actors or actors' studios automatically belong in the gallery regardless of content. They do not.
Some seem to think that any photo with a listed source can belong in the gallery. They do not.
Photos must meet ALL the guidelines, not just one or two.
Now on to The Early Spring with examples of photos that will be deleted and why:
====== Example 1 ======
Violation 1: paparazzi/fan pic
Violation 2: unreliable source
Violation 3: not valid behind-the-scenes pic
For violation 1 and 2, the source clearly states this is the poster's first time running into a celebrity. Violation 1 is enough to remove the photo.
The reason violation 3 is mentioned: celebrities going to/from a set, or even celebrities on a set itself, does not make it a valid behind-the-scenes pic.
Behind-the-scenes as defined by Merriam-Webster and the Cambridge dictionary (paraphrased here): any work, action, or unseen labor required to make a project succeed.
The photo must show production work being done.
Allowed: actors in wire rigging receiving advice from choreographer, actors at a dining table reviewing script with writers, actors having fake wound makeup or prosthetics applied.
Not allowed: non-distinct photos of actors sitting/posing on set (if there's no work being done in the foreground or background, subject to be removed).
====== Example 2 ======
Violation 1: unreliable source (for all three)
for first pic...
Violation 2: not official behind-the-scenes
Violation 3: low quality
Violation 4: screenshot of another picture
for second pic....
Violation 2: screenshot
Violation 3: contains fan watermark

Violation 2: Keep the Gallery Title-Focused- An image should have a clear connection to the drama, movie, or show itself.
These are mostly self-explanatory. For the third pic, there is no clear connection to the drama. Photos of actors - even if they are on set and in costume, even if uploaded by the actors themselves, and even if captioned "I'm on the set of this drama" - must visually show a clear connection to the production (drama/movie/show) itself. Non-distinct photos like these will be deleted. The actor could be headed to a doctor's appointment, for all we know.
On the topic of screenshots: some people have been uploading screenshots of official photos. Upload the originals. The screenshot may look fine on a tiny phone screen; they do not look fine on a large 4k monitor. All screenshots are subject for removal.
====== Example 3 ======
Violation 1: Keep the Gallery Title-Focused- An image should have a clear connection to the drama, movie, or show itself.
Violation 2: Use reasonable discretion. Galleries should not contain large numbers of nearly identical photographs showing the same scene or moment from slightly different angles.
These are nice, high quality photos BUT the gallery should be focused on the production itself. It is not the personal gallery of the actors involved. These photos are focused on the actor and visually have no clear connection to the production. It could be from a magazine photoshoot, it could be from another drama....
The actor's studio says the photos show off the character's style. That would be ok, except there are already official pics with him in suits in the gallery already. Plus, if that is the reason for these pics, then violation 2 - pick and upload one or two of the most distinctive/unique outfits or photos. We do not need to see the same person in similar outfits in similar locations at multiple different angles. Be selective. Quality over quantity.
What may be allowed: if he was in a distinctively different outfit (police riot gear, doctor's surgical scrubs, etc.), if he was fighting another character (that could be plot-worthy), if he was proposing to another character...
====== Final Words ======
For some of the reasons stated above, exceptions are allowed, as stated in the guidelines, if published by the production company or network as they count as official promotional material.
Everyone uploading photos should familiarize themselves with the guidelines. If there are photos you want to share, but they don't meet the guidelines or you are unsure if they belong in the gallery, you can post them in the discussions, in your personal feed, or on your profile page. Those are safer options as repeated violations in the gallery can result in a user's photo upload privileges to be muted.
Please use this thread for future gallery questions (after reading the guidelines). There is no need for anyone to directly message individual staff members; you will all be directed to the guidelines on the front page of this thread.
We appreciate users who have shared the guidelines and provided advice to other users. (Your comments have been read and your efforts acknowledged prior to those photos being deleted. 😊) Thank you for helping to make this community better!
