Well Nepeta 22 I only agree with you on one sentence to be precise.
I understand why the word "hate" should not be used inflationary. I have no problem with people chatting here all day and posting new pictures or messages of their stars or dramas. After all, this is exactly what this site is for. And they don't hurt me. In my opinion, hate can also be expressed through words, arguments and behavior and the victims of it are equally genuine. Hate exists everywhere there are people. On MDL there are some people who use hurtful language, arguments and behavior. To me, that is hurtful. I press the report button and nothing happens. MDL has no guidelines or code of conduct regarding language and behavior other than violating the copyright of the posted material. That's a pity!
I agree totally. The report button works but seems to be not actioned. It seems there is limited resources on MDL, as seldom posts are checked and even removed. Yes, this word hate I feel has been mis-used quite a lot of the time, and it saddens me that this word is sometimes used like a weapon and it trivialise the true meaning of the word.
In this case, fandoms are getting emotional and the word has sometimes been mis-used and mistreated on what 'to passer-bys' can be deemed as juvenile and even entitled. Opinion that is negative about a drama or an actor is readily normalised as hate.
Here on FoF, when I started posting some comments that were critical, very quickly I was rounded up on like I said the most heinous thing. Now if I even defend someone doing the same thing, I'm labelled a silly person that's blinded by another poster doing the same thing. In this case, I don't know better because this poster is a delusional TJR fan apparently. Note, this is just rivalry between fandoms, nothing more.
To me, this is just low level fandom squabbling that has simply used the word hate for their purpose to shame others. This is why I have not left this forum because I don't like seeing this word hijacked and used for such babyish and insignificant things such as first word problems with out-of-touch fandoms so inward-looking, they cannot even stand outside to see how sad they look.
I'm glad the drama made you happy and it holds something for you. Unfortunately it didn't for me. I stuck it out because I so wanted to see it get better but it didn't. But on this forum during the airing of it, I was told to leave or quit if I was not satisfied. Every time I stayed, made further comments, I was more or less labelled a troll or a disrupter. Again, this is not right. The gate-keeping, the over-bearing fandom have over stepped their mark on a mere drama and are trying to hound and shame others away. This is not right. This is intolerance. That is the beginning of a rot as seen in history.
