DOUSHKA, you appear to be a history buff, and one who loves the details specific to Korean sageuks. I've noticed your comments across MDL, so I would like to ask if you have listed the sageuks in order relevant to their chronological history.

Sure, I do research on whatever King or Queen or faction is ruling in whatever drama I'm watching, but keeping track of their order in relation to other dramas is frustrating for a lay person not from ROK. I don't have a hard time for my own country bc our history is miniscule compared to ROK.

I was thinking about this last night while rewatching Ju Mong for the umpteenth time and will rewatch Queen Seon Deok after. One day I'd like to watch all the ones I have access to in their historical order. Yes, I love sageuks that much.

hi, thank you for your comment. Unfortunately no, I did not make such a list but it is a great idea indeed.

Oh, I'm also seeing your comment now, I've actually made two list of Korean sageuks in chronological order based on the kings that are in the drama. I made them for this challenge: The Historical K-Drama Challenge.

These are the lists I made:
List of K-Dramas/Movies based on Goryeo Kings.
List of K-Dramas/Movies based on Joseon Kings.

And there is also another list by another user, which shows all dramas/movies from all Korean dynasties, but it hasn't been recently updated, so more recent dramas aren't on it: Rillas' List of Korean K-Dramas/Movies on Historical Timetable.

I hope they are useful to you!

For anyone interested in reading a bit more about Sejong The Great: https://thetalkingcupboard.com/portfolio/king-sejongs-tragic-family-history/

Such a great read. Thank you very much for sharing

I’m curious to know why the son danced for the Queen in the end of episode 12? It was beautiful.

I think it was a farewell dance as well as showing his love and filial piety to his mother.

I'll check them out. Thank you.

After I made the comment, I did more research and did find a timetable of sorts. Right now though, I can't find it.
