Rejected / Not Acceptable Examples for Titles (Hong Kong)
Contents
The following images must not be used as the main cover image for Hong Kong titles. These submissions will be rejected even if they are commonly seen online, displayed on platforms, or widely reposted.
All general rejection rules apply as described in the Global Rejected / Not Acceptable Examples section. The cases below highlight Hong Kong-specific issues that commonly cause incorrect submissions.
Mainland China or International Posters Replacing Hong Kong Identity
Rejected examples include:
Mainland China posters used for Hong Kong films or dramas when a Hong Kong promotional visual exists
International posters replacing the Hong Kong theatrical or broadcast poster
Overseas marketing visuals used as the main cover despite an official Hong Kong release
For Hong Kong titles, Hong Kong promotional materials always take priority.
Festival & Event Graphics Used as Main Covers
Rejected examples include:
Posters that primarily promote:
Festival schedules
Screening dates or venues
Event branding (e.g., HKIFF layouts)
Graphics where festival information overwhelms or replaces the film’s identity
Festival posters may exist, but do not replace Hong Kong theatrical posters once domestic materials are available.
Home Media, Platform, or Late Redesigns Replacing Original HK Posters
Rejected examples include:
DVD / Blu-ray cover art used as the main cover
Platform-exclusive redesigns created after the original release
Later promotional visuals that override the film or drama’s original Hong Kong release identity
Packaging and platform artwork are not equivalent to theatrical or broadcast posters.
Program Identity Stability (Host & Concept Changes)
Rejected examples include:
Changing a program’s main cover image solely because of:
Host replacements
Cast changes
Studio or set redesigns
Minor concept refreshes
Unless:
The broadcaster officially released and adopted a new primary promotional visual
The replacement visual is used consistently across official promotions
In Hong Kong television, host or cast changes do not automatically redefine a program’s visual identity.
Each independently listed title must use the officially released main promotional visual, not a user-selected update.
