Rejected / Not Acceptable Examples for Titles (South Korea)
Contents
The following images must not be used as the main cover image for South Korea titles. These submissions will be rejected even if they are commonly seen online, displayed on platforms, or widely reposted.
All general rejection rules apply as described in the Global Rejected / Not Acceptable Examples section. The cases below highlight South Korea-specific issues that commonly cause incorrect submissions.
Platform-Reconstructed Posters
Rejected examples include:
Posters reconstructed from:
Website headers or banners
Horizontal key visuals cut or rebuilt into vertical layouts
Multiple stills assembled into a new “poster-style” composition
Platform-generated vertical images that were never officially released as posters
Images where:
Text, credits, or logos were resized, moved, or removed
Layouts were altered to fit the app display requirements
In South Korea, streaming platforms frequently generate display-optimized artwork. Platform presentation alone does not establish official promotional intent.
Unofficial Cover Rotation for Long-Running Variety Programs
Rejected examples include:
Changing a program’s main cover due to:
Host or cast changes
Temporary lineups
Concept refreshes
Studio or set redesigns
Anniversary or seasonal branding
Rotating covers based on:
Platform preference
Viewer recognition
Fan familiarity
A cover may be updated only if:
An official replacement visual was released by the broadcaster or producer, and
That visual was adopted as the program’s new primary promotional image
Host or cast changes alone do not justify a cover change.
Festival-Only Films When Korean Posters Exist
Rejected examples include:
International or festival posters used as the main cover when an official Korean promotional poster exists
Festival designs replacing:
Korean theatrical posters
Official domestic promotional visuals
Festival posters may be used only when no Korean promotional poster exists at all, and only until a domestic visual is released.
Legacy & Historical Poster Integrity
Rejected examples include:
Modern redesigns replacing:
Original theatrical-era Korean posters
Period-accurate promotional materials
Posters with:
Modernized typography
Updated layouts not used during the original release period
For older Korean titles, especially pre-1980s films, priority is given to period-accurate Korean promotional materials, even when image quality is limited.
