My Favorite K-dramas

I wish I had the words to describe how brilliant this drama is but I don't.

If there were ever such thing as friendship goals, then this is is it! Lee Hye Ri, Ryu Joon Yeol, Lee Dong Hwi, Go Kyung Pyo, and Park Bo Gum's characters will give you just that. Can we also talk about the soundtrack? I give it a solid 10 out of 10! It makes me feel nostalgic for the 80s even though I wasn't born yet. This drama is truly a gift to viewers. 

How was I introduced to this masterpiece? I once saw Jin of BTS on a V Live talk about being in episode 10 or something. He mentioned how SKY Castle made him reflect his school years and how he was truly grateful his parents didn't put pressure on him. I wanted to know more about this drama that captured his interest.

SKY Castle is one of those few dramas you want to rewatch. It's because the story is that rich and layered.  In fact, I find myself picking up things I hadn't noticed before when I do choose to rewatch parts or episodes. The characters were well-written. Anyone who is  priveleged to  receive education may relate to the pressures these children face in the drama. I mean,... sigh! It definitely reminded me of the pressures I felt during my school years . There were moments that got me unexpectedly emotional.  The story is beautifully gut wrenching and detailed to the point where you can study the scenes, the sequence of events, and characters' decisions. All I will say about this show: be prepared for one intense, crazy ride.

I have a major crush on Mr. Gu. 

This one holds a special place in my heart. It was my first K-drama and the beginning of many more. I remember how this gem gave me a lot of laughter. The story is superb and I definitely recommend this. It goes back and forth between present times and the Goryeo Dynasty. Because of this drama, it led me to other works of Gong Yoo such as Train to Busan (2016) and Silenced (2011).
