2. Little Women

No Likable Character (among three sisters): Maybe the director wants to make these three sister characters feel more human, BUT for me, it was a disaster. Instead of relatable, they just came off as hard to sympathize with and honestly painful to watch. The eldest sister was naive and made a lot of stupid decisions (which I thought she gonna get better and have character development later on, but I guess not). The middle sister was painted as the "righteous" and supposedly the clever one, but hey, she has tendencies to self-sabotage and stubborn to a fault. And don't even get me started with the youngest sister, yes, she's young but that doesn't excuse her actions. She was bratty and so ungrateful, even choosing to abandon her family as if she forgot about how much her two sister's dedication to support her from the start. As for the plot? Let’s just say it started out promising in the early episodes, but as the story escalated, it got messier so the writing and execution fell apart. I thought I’d found a classic, but what I got was a tangled mess trying too hard to be profound and ending up painfully shallow. It’s a poor reflection on the director and writer, which made this drama such a letdown. So, if you are looking for something light, relaxing, or something that can elevate your mood in your free time, this is a BIG NO. Trust me on this. Avoid this if you can. Or watch at your own risk... unless you are in the mood to suffer and numb your pain.

From Hype to Letdown: As someone who was excited to hear that two great actors like Leo Wu and Zhao Jin Mai were finally starring in the same drama, I couldn’t wait for it to air. I’ve loved both of them in their past works, and I always found their acting was solid, so naturally I thought this might be the next masterpiece. Yup, that was my mistake. I set my expectations too high, and when the show didn’t even come close, it hit hard. The storyline turned out dull and flat. The female lead, in particular, was supposed to be portrayed as a competitive athlete with a cool “ice queen” persona on the court. Instead, the writer made her petulant and cringey, and she never owned the role. Sure, a character can show a different side outside the game, but here the contrast was so extreme it just felt downright ridiculous. And outside of romance? Forget it. There was barely any plot, barely any growth. Just hours of tedious, dragging scenes that felt like a chore to sit through. Honestly, it took me forever to finish this drama. In the end, it was nothing but disappointment. The writer and director had the chance to create something great with two talented leads, but instead, it was all wasted potential buried under the poor writing and weak direction. Would not recommend this to anyone, such as waste of time. Definitely not worth the hype!!
