Underrated

The hidden gem of xianxia: our story starts with a dragon king (ML) on his path to plotted revenge against his ex-lover that betrayed him in the worst possible ways, when he met a feisty taoist (FL) that holding a vital role on helping him to complete his full-of-hatred quest. Sound cliche or not special? Wrong!!! Just from watching the first episode, the plot itself enough to kept me in the edge of my seat, so I ended up binge-watching it for two whole days (fyi it's a 40-episode drama, crazy ik)! The cinematography, plot-wise, characters development, acting,  soundtrack was done WONDERFULLY and conveyed a lot of emotions. You will not find the so-called sidekick exist just because to make the main leads looks heroic, nope. Each character show their prowess while not forget exposing their flaws, and that's made them relatable. Not to forget how delightful our main leads are, their bond (which consist mutual trust, tacit understanding, strength and will to protect and sacrifice) is the epitome of true love. They are not just lovers, but also each other confidant, comrade-in-arms, closer than kin, and soulmate.

"The most fortunate thing to happen to me in this life is to have you with me when I am at the end of my tether and have nothing left" 

"I was once blinded by hatred, but since meeting you, I've been willing to give everything I have for you. In the future, if you have someone you love, I will also pull off the scales on my body one by one, make them into armor, and give them to you, my love. My only fear is that I offer you my whole heart, yet you desire nothing in return" 

Hearts remember when the brain forgets: imagine living your life unable to remember the past two years, holding on only to today’s memories, and then forgetting them all by tomorrow. Could you still keep a positive attitude? For me, that would feel almost impossible. I’d probably just drift aimlessly, living only for today with no real connection to tomorrow. But Miyabi, our resilient, genuine, and kind-hearted female lead, was different. She found the courage to do what she could, and gave her best, as a neurosurgeon, as a doctor, and as a person. And of course, she wasn’t alone in this. Her strength was made possible thanks to the constant support of her colleagues, including her fellow neurosurgeon, Dr. Sanpei, who stood by her every step of the way.

Stories that rekindled my love for music: this story is about ambition, passion, and the dream of creating music—where four distinct sounds meet and blend into a resonant harmony. That is who TENBLANK are. On a personal level, their journey deeply touched my heart. As someone who once studied and played music, with dreams of becoming a professional musician, music can sometimes be a sore subject for me. Even so, I still carry a deep love for it, no matter how deeply I try to hide or bury it. Watching TENBLANK grow, find their sound, and earn recognition has been an incredible and healing experience for me. I love the energy they bring to every performance—Akane-chan’s powerful rhythm, Sho’s expressive riffs, Sakamoto-kun’s finely tuned arrangements, and Fujitani Naoki’s heartfelt vocals and songwriting. Together, they create something truly special. I hope this story can awaken others’ love for music, just as it did mine, and inspire people to dream bravely about music once again. And perhaps one day, I will gather the courage to play music again—just like Akane-chan, who never flinches or gives up in the face of setbacks, and believes in her own sound.

When you need to watch something fluff: a light-hearted romcom with childhood friends and noona romance trope! Plus the OST was good, especially  I like  少年 (Juvenile) and 心动贩卖机 (Vending machine for hearts) that both sung by PIggy.

Let’s dive into the memories of a first love that blooms quietly and aches silently: do you still remember the first time you held feelings for someone—feeling excited and nervous, yet shy all at once? That moment when you want the whole world to know how important he is to you, yet desperately hope he never finds out. Yes, that's the complexity of first love. A feeling so strong it makes the world seem brighter simply because he exists in it. It leaves you smiling for no clear reason, acting a little silly for days. And yet, that same feeling can quietly turn heavy—slowly transforming into jealousy, insecurity, and sadness when you realize he doesn’t see you the same way, or perhaps doesn’t see you at all. This drama captures all of those emotions perfectly. The difference is that Luo Zhi, our female lead, carries her story of first love with her until she meets Sheng Huai Nan (her first love) again at university and finally begins to truly know him. The rest is history. This story gives you angst and bittersweet longing in the most tender way—a perfect reminder of what unrequited first love feels like. Still, I’m grateful they were given closure and allowed to reach a wholesome ending.

You should watch it for the romance: superb chemistry between Main Leads and the OST was so good.  Plot-wise this drama has a lot of loopholes and ridiculous things that make the story such a mess, BUT let me tell you, the main leads make things better a hundred times (plus ML charms and acting were so lethal)!!!
