Women make up 50% of the population. Despite popular (men, and some women under patriarchy) belief, a male character does NOT present a neutral or universal perspective.
Yet male perspectives still dominate the media. And men "don't find female characters relatable." Well, if women have been having to relate to male characters this entire time, it's obvious men are quite capable of it too. They just don't put in the effort.
