    Korean Drama - 2025, 8 episodes

A surprisingly fun show. Loved the humour and the focus on how much hospitals focus on economics over saving people. Some parts were a bit too much but I had a great time.

    2. Study Group

    Korean Drama - 2025, 10 episodes

Had 0 expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The show didn't take itself seriously which actually aided it. Highly enjoyable, but Minhyun didn't really fit the role...

Was okay. Liked zombie parts but dragged out by the end. Hated ML and Jisoo's character by the end was a bit meh

  • Weak Hero Class 2

    5. Weak Hero Class 2

    Korean Drama - 2025, 8 episodes

    7.5

    Man was this disappointing.
Jihoon was amazing. Any scenes with him was basically 10/10. Especially the emotional ones. Not going to lie, he was the best thing with the show and are solely responsible for me giving it 7.5 and not 4.
    Almost anything else = ugh/meh
Junyoung surprised me with his villain role. He does psychos so good. Also the gossip trio was *chef's kiss*
The main issue I had with this season is that compared to S1 it felt emotionally shallow most of the time. The new characters didn't really have any depth and the only one I really cared about was Jihoon's character. One bc of the first season but also bc he was the only one with more depth.
A lot of people really liked Ryeon's character but I disliked him a lot. First his character was very webtoony, and compared to S1 which may not have a realistic plot at times it still had a sense of realistic feeling in it. It just immediately took me out. And there really wasn't many scenes to develop their friendship, they just went from not knowing each other to suddenly friends. Similar things happened in S1 but there they gave them a few more scenes and vulnerability to see to growing and importance of those friendships.
By the end of the show I still didn't really care about any of the characters except Sieun, and only his emotional parts truly made the show fairly good. The rest felt webtoony, tropey and shallow, especially in comparison with the masterpiece S1 was.

  • When Life Gives You Tangerines

    6. When Life Gives You Tangerines

    Korean Drama - 2025, 16 episodes

    9.0

When talking about When Life Gives you Tangerines one has to applaud the screenwriters and actors/actresses for a phenomenal job. And it truly was fantastic. I sadly have 2 main issues with the show, which are the reasons it's not a 10 for me.

    1. IU should not have played both the younger mother and daughter. I can see how they wanted to portray their similarities but there's better way of showcasing that. And tbf I rarely do like when one actor plays multiple different characters (the only exception is identical twins shows). It just truly annoys me. In general I found the first part of the daughters story boring and I was struggling to get back into the show.

    2. Pacing felt off at times. The first few episodes stuff happened at a super fast rate, but by the time the daughters story took more space, suddenly all momentum disappeared. The story just felt dragged before it got more interesting by the end.

Those two are my biggest issues. One that didn't affect the rating but made me a bit :/ is that Park Bo Gum wasn't really a main character, especially since it was promoted as an IU/Park Bo Gum lovestory drama. And it was, but it was not the main part. The older versions of the characters were also lovely, but the father had most of his depth as an older adult and not as young. Which I would've liked to see more.

But this show is definitely worth watching, but it was a bit too depressing to be my favourite show of the year.

  • Nine Puzzles

    7. Nine Puzzles

    Korean Drama - 2025, 11 episodes

    8.0

Nine puzzles I was so excited to watch. It was enjoyable but the first part was stronger than the last part.

The show itself felt like a love letter towards sherlock holmes and detective conan. But the characteristics of the characters kinda disappeared by the end, at least somewhat. The main villain was super obvious from the start but the motive felt lackluster.

As someone who used to be obsessed with Sherlock Holmes, especially BBC Sherlock, it was an enjoyable show that had the potential to be fantastic.

  • Our Unwritten Seoul

    8. Our Unwritten Seoul

    Korean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes

    9.5

Our unwritten Seoul has the potential to be my favourite drama of the year. I really loved it.

This show hit my in the heart. The acting and the script just went straight to my heart, so I spent almost every episode crying. Their insecurities and depth the characters had, was just so relatable for me. I can't even but words on how personal this show felt for me.

It's not a 10/10 for me, even though it's a masterpiece of a work. The ending was just a tad bit meh for me. I would've liked a few more episodes to get a bit more story in. But it's still so solid.

And I'm going to be honest. Park Bo Young is my favourite actress so I am in fact a bit biased towards all her shows. I usually in some way like them. But not always.

  • Squid Game Season 3

    9. Squid Game Season 3

    Korean Drama - 2025, 6 episodes

    7.0

I liked it more than S2. But that's mostly because it felt like a copy of S1 but with less depth of the characters. Most of them just felt truly shallow, and I just really hated that main character.

Yim Siwans character was the most interesting one, even if he was such a POS. He at least seem to have some depth, but just barely. It would've been so much better if the main characters were Siwan's and Yuri's characters so we could get shown a full backstory of them (and not just getting told through dialogue). The dude from S1 could still be participating in the games but more of a side character. I genuinely think everything would've felt more impactful by the end.

So it's barely just above "it's fine" and it's mostly because I enjoyed some parts a lot with the focus on ethics and morality issues. Also the brother character was the most stupid and useless character. At least the pink workers storyline was a bit interesting to watch.

  • S Line

    10. S Line

    Korean Drama - 2025, 6 episodes

    9.0

I'm like one of very few people who seemed to like this show, including the ending.

This is a show I would say is strong in the storytelling between the lines. There was a lot of showing instead of telling, which is something I prefer a lot. Since I can interpret and analyze the scenes instead of being told what I should think.

I really loved how it shows that privacy violation is a double-edged sword. When you know info others don't what does some end up doing. Blackmail, murder, wrongful assumptions etc. Or maybe the same as the FL, ignore it until something dangerous happens. It's such a show heavy on psychology and morality, and for me that's *chef's kiss*.

A lot of people hated the ending, and while it was not my favourite either, I still liked it. I saw the teacher as a personification of either a demon or a smaller god. And by giving specific people glasses to see the strings, she prayed on their more awful nature. I interpreted that the more people loving the power she gave them, the stronger she became. And that's also why you could hear her whispers in the last scene.

Also I would say so many people commented that "so what if people saw who has slept with whom, nobody would care". You're forgetting this is taking place in world that has progressed but are still quite conservative when it comes to sexual topics. It's not the US or other western countries that are more open. And the show also dabbled into a lot of taboos, which were truly fascinating to watch.

  • Head over Heels

    11. Head over Heels

    Korean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes

    8.0

This was a surprisingly enjoyable watch. Went in with very low expectations though. Personally felt that the antagonist (shaman) plot was dragged out for way too long and that they should've explored other part of shamanism more.

I would say the first half is stronger than the later half. It dabbled also more in more deeper subjects while by the end they felt more glassed over. Many others have complained that it should've had more episodes and I do agree with that.

Cho Yi Hyun and Choo Young Woo are both becoming some of my new favourites, and they were quite lovely to watch.

  • Our Generation

    12. Our Generation

    Chinese Drama - 2025, 24 episodes

    8.0

    This was quite enjoyable.

Been loving Zhao Jin Mai since I watched Reset and Zhang Ling He have been on my radar lately. Their other project together I'm still trying to finish (impressive for me, since it's a costume drama). Their chemistry is really good.

As many others think, this show does not let the story fully develop. Lots of progress of friendship happens between scenes and it makes it more difficult to connect at times with some of the characters. But overall it's still very enjoyable.

Warning: ZLH's characters mom is Go Ahead mom level of frustration
