The Queens

Not much change in the last couple years. Really hard to keep the numbers of favorites near ten.

  • Oh Yeon Seo

    South Korean

Burning thru some good Joseon period dramas I landed on My Sassy Girl.  My favorite show of all time now.  Yeon Seo presents a smile bursting with life, and soul crushing heartbreaks.  A wonderful actress that can take a scene, go from scripted to creative, and elevate the emotions and empathy that I feel.  2014 - Bo Ri is a superb casting for Yeon Seo.  She just stepped right into the depth and complicity of Bo Ri . Bo Ri made me so sad, angry, and finally I got to shed a tear of glee in the last couple episodes. . Lol.   She can  carry a serious role as easy as she does a drama role.  But I kinda dig her nutty role stuff.  After 300+ hours of watching Yeon  Seo, tv shows, tv dramas, films, interviews, promotions, I can't get enough of all the sounds and animation that comes from her while she talks.

  • Jeeja Chanthathanisa Tang

    Thai

It's so obvious she has enormous capacity for violence, but somehow always justified.  Hero syndrome.   Her blending of several different martial art techniques and dance training, give her unique skills to perform original moves in fight scenes.  After watching This Girl is Bad-Ass,  interviews, and tv shows, it appears Yanin's  life is filled with fun, exploration, and motherhood.  She seems to have a wonderful sense of funny. Once awarded with Asian Smile of the Month, her beauty is more than my personal opinion.  I like that she is just living on and sharing with fans. Again my grief is I want more. Watching everything I can, even without subs. Love her sounds, talking, yelling, laughing, Qi. I watch Chocolate, This Girl..., Raging Phoenix almost monthly and still stress from each scene she is in jeopardy.  In Esao Untarai, Yanin showed her cute sexy self, right along with her crushing emotional depth.

  • Choi Kang Hee

    South Korean

All the ladies in  the Asian dramas that I admire, I do so for their shows, quirks, and looks. Kang Hee is the only one I think of just as real person.  From my impression, someone to hang with, go out to have fun, and tell secrets.  Other than acting source, info seems to shine her as funny and friendly.  Her drama self is super cute.  Her got to be serious self is intense.  She moves so graceful, and girly (obviously as should be).  She has the best running motions in Asia.  Her face is its own show.  Micro expressions, speech pattern, and eyes enthrall me.  Other than my fav, Oh Yeon Seo, Choi is that one that hasn't been in a bad roll, because she is such a force she can carry a show.

  • Lee Yoo Ri

    South Korean

My first show with Yoo Ri was Come! Jang Bo Ri.  No greater rivalry exists in kdrama.  Oh Yeon Seo delivers a literal award winning, complex, character.  But her success equally depended on Yoo Ri giving a literal award-winning performance. Most hated in Korea, 2014.  She delivered - desperation, evil doing, jealously, loathing, and failure.  I hated her, pitied her, cried for her, and in the end recognized the brilliance of Yoo Ri.  In other shows, Yoo Ri brings engaging charisma, beauty, and authenticity.  You just accept and believe her characters as real.  Lie After Lie shows growth.  It also gave her the opportunity to display her romantic side (on a two-way street) - I was enthralled.  Becoming Witch  shows an ever-growing range of skills for her.  Bringing all that she is.  She clocks in at my #4, climbing the ladder each new show she makes.

  • Xiao Yan

    Chinese

Legend of White Snake got her in front of me.  I have watched all her stuff I can find.  The love between Xiao Qing (Xiao Yan) and Bai Su Zhen (Ju Jing Yi) is the best sistermance I have seen.  Qing is playful, silly, loving, and suffers heartbreak; all brought by Yan with perfection.  Just want to wrap her up and take her home.  She can be funny, immature, and two minutes later serious and dominate a scene.  Xiao displays her skills with shows of many different genres.  My Roommate Is a Detective, she crushes it.  Her silly is challenged by no one.  She still finds room to deliver a complex character with a range of skills.  In my top 10, partially because of her great beauty, by equally for authenticity of character she brings to each role.

  • Ju Jing Yi

    Chinese

Legend of White Snake is a habit for me.  Her singing the theme songs is the icing on the cake. Tiny tiny lady, yet a real presence.  I had trouble really buying into Chinese dramas.  Initially I just did not connect with the language.  White Snake got me past that.  I enjoy China drama now.  I also like the way she sings.  Listen to her music often.  Ju and Xiao Yan are my favorite sistermance(?) pair.

  • Bae Doo Na

    South Korean

Bae Doo Na fell off my list once. But then I see her a new thing and bang she is back. Doo Na has a giant range of skill. Even her not Korean origin acting is amazing. I might just mention, couple decades back I saw her in The Host. Being deep into WoW, many toons, I always needed inspiration for names. Bae and Bai wound up on my female toons. doo Na sorta has been hanging around my inet environment for 20 years. Really feels weird to think of her this way.

  • Shin Hae Sun

    South Korean

Mr. Queen.  10/10 all the way.  Watched her past and present dramas.  Never disappointed.  In my top 10 with the other rare birds as she a powerful presence in her shows.

  • Park Eun Bin

    South Korean

Woo is a 10/10 character.  Major perfect for her.  She kinda shows flashes of Woo as she developed her skills in different roles. In 2021 I started Instagram and MDL to follow Oh Yeon Seo. Yeon Seo mostly moved off the English Instagram. Right now, Sep 2026, and the past few months Park shows up in my feeds a lot. It's like she having a rebirth of public appearances. Fan favorite for singing and smiling. Awesome.

  • Hwang Jung Eum

    South Korean

High kick I cried for her.  Some mdl actresses make music when they talk.  Jung Eum is one of my favorite singers.  She is a master of getting trama.  I tear and cry thru her shows, laugh too. She makes me suffer unseparation anxiety.  I start the next show with drama of her last show.

  • Shin Sae Kyeong

    South Korean

I like the mdl females sounds, music, they make when talking.  Shin is another top musician on my list.  Her coi look is major hot.

  • Sim Yi Young

    South Korean

My Husband Got Family, with Yeon Seo, is where I first saw her.  Many dramas later she is still a heart toucher.  An off character in Escape the Seven as FL, she nailed it.  Devious tart.
