Five Neurospicy Chinese Drama Characters

Protagonist Lin Yiyang has a lifelong obsession with one thing: billiards. Then he sees female protagonist Yin Guo from the outside of a bar window, and he acquires a second obsession. In his youth, he had problems with dysregulated emotions, impulsive speech and actions, and gauging his impact on others. As an adult, he's silent out of fear of committing harmful speech. Though he's awkward, intense, and hyperfocused, luckily for him he catches Yin Guo's eye. And she's also single-mindedly obsessed with billiards, so in that way they're kindred spirits.

Female protagonist Cheng Shaoshang is most definitely a spatial processor. She makes wooden furniture and structures - and weapons in a pinch, from materials on hand. She astounds others with her spatial problem solving abilities. She can predict the path of a massive fire and booby trap a bridge. Reading and handwriting calligraphy, however, are torture for her - and not only because of the lack of education and harmful environment she survived as a child. 

Male protagonist Wu Bai has a lot in common with other neurospicy e-sports cdrama characters. He perseverates on training, and single-mindedly pursues his dream woman. This drama also contains bonus ASD-inflected character Zhou Yi, who has some difficulty deciphering social cues.

Supporting character Shao Yao has the drive and obsessive focus to become an authority on herbal medicine. Her devotion to a specific and focused interest, emotional frailty and innocence are influenced by family trauma, but are also a part of her unique psychological makeup.

Supporting character Jiang Jing Rui has the ADHD-like characteristics of impulsivity, intense emotion, and awkwardly honest speech. He's also able to bring tremendous focus to bear on one particular task: the game of Go.
