They might actually be in love IRL

Holy Smokes does this couple do intimacy soooooo well, casual or otherwise, I had to google so many times to see if they were together in real life because it was so convincing 

I hope you like adorable affection because it's a buffet. It's practically in every single episode and we are being well fed, 10/10 good soup

I watched the first S1 to get to S2 and boy is S2 worth it, they are so in love, in any scene the ML was in I watched him specifically because he had so many little casual intimacies with the FL and just the way he looked at her was to die for

They actually dated IRL while this was filming and it shows, enough said

The show is definitely a product of its time and pretty cringy sometimes but i really like the 3rd act which tied everything together and it matures everything really nicely 

I will rewatch this show sometimes just to see their relationship it is that good

If a person could embody adorable, this ML would be it. His eyes, his smile, his cheeks, his ears, absolutely everything about him is so stinkin cute (in a very handsome way). I have to pause the show every few minutes because he looks at the FL  with these heart eyes that I just can't get enough of, and I need a second to compose myself from fangirling. 

It's also heavily rumored that the FL and ML are together in real life, and I can see why, even though it's never been confirmed. They are amazing together, especially because this is their 3rd drama together. 

The ML just has this natural way of interacting with the FL and his son in this drama that is so endearing, and if I didn't know better, I would completely believe that is his real son because he is so naturally affectionate and loving. If you like emotionally available fathers who easily show love and affection, this is the drama for you.

PS. If you're going to watch this drama just note that yes the characters can be immature at times and there is one specific arc that is at least 3 episodes to long. I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 because there is at least 3 grudges and 2 misunderstandings that were unnecessary and more than a little contrived. It just goes to show that is how good the ML is that it got such a high rating despite those shortcomings

 I'm speechless. I think I have to go stare at a wall for a while and think about life. 

I'm getting emotional just thinking about this couple and how soft and tender their love is. When I tell you this ML is perfect, it hurts my heart. He is going to star in my daydreams for the rest of my life. The ML's love for the FL is devastatingly beautiful, and how gently he loves her makes me wanna cry myself to sleep tonight. 

*don't let the ML's stupid hair deter you from watching this drama, 97% of the time its attractively messy and 3% of the time its a bad '80s cosplay, but I love him enough to look past it.

I am in love with their love. I can feel their love with every fiber of my being, and I'm sobbing as I'm writing this thinking about how much these two love each other. Either these two are the most amazing actors in the whole world or they have been in a passionate relationship for the past 30 years; you can't convince me otherwise. 

The first few episodes are kinda average but once you get past the first two episodes, strictly for exposition, you're golden and it just gets better from there. Literally rated it a 10/10 

The way they are in tears with how much they love each other, when they hold each other's faces weeping tears of joy, the palm kisses, how the affection feels so relaxed and natural is astounding, AND THE EYES just the way they look at each other I could watch a whole series just of them gazing at each other, the eyes chico they never lie

I have NEVER seen a drama depict casual intimacy and skinship so well, almost every single episode it is astounding how much chemistry these actors have.

From sitting on the floor and looking for cavities in her mouth, playing foot games on the way back from school, holding each other while he covered her eyes. I could eat that scene where she jumps into his arms when he comes home from the hospital for breakfast lunch and dinner. I could keep going for forever it was just that good

I'm in awe of how good this drama is. I will have this drama in my heart for the rest of my life. 

The leads have sooooo much chemistry in how they interact, they are so goofy, it feels so natural and real and it's so much fun. There isn't a ton of skinship till the end of the drama but thats ok its a cdrama what do you expect. 

I am in love with the ML's voice, specifically when he is being gentle. There is a scene in the last episode where he speaks under his breath and it sounded like he was so in love, it made me cry. SOOO GOOD

We all know it, we all love it, it is a classic for a reason, the actors literally got married and have a family now, they are so in love and we are blessed for it

So so so so so many little moments that are beautiful beyond compare, their love is palpable like when they are crossing borders and they run back to each other *screaming into my pillow*

You cannot convince me that these actors are not in love with each other, just wow

It is definitely a slow burn but it burns so well, I have no further comments your honor

There is something so beautifully sweet and gentle about this couple, but also incredibly intense and passionate.  I love it when the couples in dramas match the mood of the scene, which sounds dumb because duh that's acting, but they don't always do. Like when they are in a darkened room and going to sleep, instead of feeling the emotions of the scene, they just talk in a normal speaking voice. This couple gets it. Lying next to each other, he pulls her closer, and she nestles her head in the crook of his neck, and he kisses her forehead. He looks at her with such gentleness and love, he almost starts to choke up as he says so sweetly and passionately under his breath in barely a whisper, "Good night". 

GAAAAAHHH ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I need 3-5 business days to process what is going on with this couple. 

The drama has very little in the way of anything resembling a plot (not all dramas can pull it off but this one does), so if you like character-driven dramas, this is the one for you. It's pretty slow in the first couple of episodes, just let it build and get past that awkward new couple phase and you're good to go. ALSO there is a surprising amount of skinship in this drama, like really natural hand holding in literally every single one of the last 14 episodes, road trip cuddling, him playing with her hair, their cheeks pressing together as he whispers in her ear. I just can't anymore. I need to go to bed. 

Boy oh boy does the ML really know how to look longingly at the FL, he has perfected the art of being a loverboy,  he just breaks my heart with how good his acting is

Not to say that the FL wasn't great because she is a literal A-List Cdrama actor and she is SPECTACULAR, its just goes to show how amazing his performance was

There are so many little moments, like when she wipes the water dripping off his chin with the back of her hand *chefs kiss*

I love a good flirty ML with a mischievous glint in his eyes. The ML is smitten with the adorable FL, and he practically falls to his knees when she's being just too stinkin' cute. I love how he smiles with his whole face when he just can't help but fall for her. I love how he holds her hands so gently, and they trace each other's mouths with their fingers, when he plays with her fingers and kisses the back of her hand because his emotions are to big to hold in and he has to touch her. 

They might be in love guys idk. The actors aren't super popular so I can't find anything about them being in a relationship, but I'd absolutely believe it if they were together. 

Tooth achingly sweet without being unbearably cringy, the FL is believably adorable and innocent. 

A masterclass in casual intimacy, the whole show is so atmospheric and captures young love so well its heartbreaking

This man is going to live rent-free in my mind for the rest of my life. At the beginning, the ML is a little stiff but I chalk that up to him playing an awkward teenager at the start of the show. However, as the show progresses, he gets much more comfortable with himself and relaxed with the FL. Not to mention, he is a little bit feral for the FL as far as a Cdrama goes ya know?

The way he acts and portrays emotion is so raw and feels so real, especially in the last few episodes. I think he might be one of my new fav actors. Not to mention an ACTUAL kpop idol.

Is it just me (it might be just me) or are Chinese MLs usually rail thin, so having this ML have actual muscles is mind boggling. When I tell you this man is so fine, when I tell you this man is scrum-dilly-ishis, he make me wanna *loud thud as my neck snaps and my body hits the ground*

Geez oh man is this a long series. With a whopping 73 episodes, you would think it would become repetitive and contrived, but the way they pace the show allows it to flesh out the characters, relationships, motivations, and character growth.

THEY ARE MARRIED IRL and boy oh boy does it show. I have NEVER seen a historical drama with so much casual affection from a male lead not to mention that it all feels very natural. I love them so much it hurts my heart.

The very natural and comforting hand holding, impromptu kisses (yes they kiss many times in this show, wild I know), laying his head in her lap, play wrestling, etc. Not to mention the love and affection he shows his children in the show, so adorable!

Call me basic, I never claimed I wasn't. My middle school heart loves a flirty 'bad boy. (He's not really a bad boy, but he fits the vibe, you know.) The ML's mischievous smirk and the way he looked at the FL had me screaming into my pillow at 3 AM as I binge-watched the whole series and devoured every episode.

The ML has some of the most expressive eyes in the whole of cdrama land. The way he looks at her just kills me, he has perfected the art of being a loverboy

There is not a lot skinship in the show with the main couple but when it does pop up it is gold

*SPOILER* it keeps me up at night that we didn't get a better ending

Small skinship scattered throughout the show but really well done. Longing in the ML eyes was pretty great 

The scene where he leans down from his horse to kiss her as they leave the city with all the banners and soldiers around is truly a testament to the art of cinema. 

One of my all-time favorite dramas 

A smattering of scenes with casual intimacy and skinship and every single one of them have me giggling and kicking my feet and a handful of scenes that make your jaw drop with how good the acting is like when he is confessing *slow whistle* so good

Tooth achingly sweet with a FL you can really root for, the show could be considered cringy but i think its worth it

The chemistry between these actors is undeniable, the casual touches and how you can feel how much they care about each other is on another level

A lot of other bl actors need to take notes, like when Cake is comforting Seeiw before *SPOILER* he leaves for the USA and is stroking his hair and playing with his ear is breath taking, a lot of actors pat their head like a dog or stroke their hair very robotically but it feels soooooo natural in this drama

Solid longing look in the ML eyes, pretty sure he broke character and was smiling and laughing at the FL in most of the first episode 

Skinship didn't really super start till the last few episodes but was super solid 

Call me crazy but I like this version better than the Korean one, it just has more warmth and personality 

The ML just looks like he is so in love with the FL, there is a smattering skinship and casual intimacies that are pretty great

It is a literal crime we didn't get more of the second couple, 10/10 no critiques
