News DO NOT WATCH
All the shows I won't be watching for various reasons, usually the "tragic gays" trope or because the show was never completed.
-
1. The Shipper
Thai Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
Tragic gays, only the straight couple gets a happy ending.
-
2. Method
Korean Movie - 2017
I don't know, I just feel like the ending would hurt my feelings.
-
3. My Dream
Thai Drama - 2018, 12 episodes
Never completed. Also, not that great.
-
4. A Frozen Flower
Korean Movie - 2008
Pure misery.
-
5. Bangkok Love Story
Thai Movie - 2007
Tragic gays in a way that's almost comical by how awful it is.
-
6. What the Duck Season 2: Final Call
Thai Drama - 2019, 8 episodes
I don't... I'm not even sure where to start with this one. Main reason is all gay couples have bad ends, only the straight side couple gets a happy ending.
-
7. Hormones
Thai Drama - 2013, 13 episodes
Supposedly the gay couple ends in one boy saying he wants to go back to girls, with no resolution for the other boy.
-
8. Addicted
Chinese Drama - 2016, 15 episodes
Never completed. Might still watch it one day, though.
-
9. Sweet Boy
Thai Movie - 2016
No homo ending.
-
10. Rup Thong
Thai Drama - 2018, 18 episodes
Tragic gays and, apparently, extreme homophobia.
-
11. The Love of Siam
Thai Movie - 2007
No homo ending, I believe.
-
12. The Best Story
Thai Drama - 2021, 3 episodes
Supposedly sad ending? I need to double check this one.
-
13. House of the Dark Shadows
Thai Drama - 2021, 27 episodes
Tragic gays.
-
14. Star City Police
Chinese Drama - 2018, 2 episodes
Never completed, apparently. :(
-
15. Amphetamine
Hong Kong Movie - 2010
Tragic ending.
-
16. DanDanSoy
Filipino Drama - 2021, 5 episodes
Was told it's tragic and not very gay.
-
17. Bungee Jumping of Their Own
Korean Movie - 2001
Rather homophobic with a depressing end.
-
18. Color Rush Season 2
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
I'm just so frustrated that the lead dropped out like that, but I'm even more frustrated that they didn't just recast him. I don't know how the story can continue when it was so heavily about the love between the two. And I have no idea how it can have a satisfying ending. I may change my mind if I hear good things, but my feelings are hurt, so boo.
-
19. Farewell My Concubine
Chinese Movie - 1993
Tragic gays and really gross stuff.
-
20. Drama Festival 2014: The Diary of Heong Yeong Dang
Korean Special - 2014, 1 episode
Tragic gays.
-
21. Love in Spring
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
Apparently it isn't actually BL, just bromance with queer baiting. Sounds like the show itself isn't great either. And here I was excited about Korea having another long BL, like Light on Me. So sad.
-
22. The Paradise of Thorns
Thai Movie - 2024
Sad, brutal, no redemption, and also relates to real life tragedy that still happens today. Nope.
-
23. I Promise I Will Come Back
Thai Drama - 2025, 8 episodes
Tragic ending. I actually watched it and understand why it ended that way, as it even sort of left a beautiful concept, but I cannot imagine having watched the whole thing only to get that ending. Like, wtf. I cried just from seeing it, and I haven't even watched the whole show, so yeah. That's a no from me.
-
24. The Miracle of Teddy Bear
Thai Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
Too sad. I hate tragic endings and can't stomach it. I really wanted to watch this, but I would rather spend my time on things that make me happy.
-
25. Kill to Love
Singaporean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
Sad ending. Which is a shame, because it seemed cool, and we don't get much legit BL in these settings.
-
26. Until We Drown
Chinese Drama - 2025, 6 episodes
Yet another sad ending.
-
27. Her
Thai Drama - 0000
I just have to know, what the hell were they thinking?
