  • Because of Meeting You

    1. Because of Meeting You

    Chinese Drama - 2017, 56 episodes

    1.0

Ack, I couldn't even make it through the first episode.  That this was going to be over two days worth of scheming and malicious intent was made painfully evident in the first 10 minutes...hard no.

  • Flavour It's Yours

    2. Flavour It's Yours

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 25 episodes

    1.0

Slap stick comedy isn't my gig, nor are over exaggerated characters.  Crap dubbing that makes my ears bleed and something from 2019 should not have the same 'feel' as something from the 80's...yet here we are.

    I had to drop it.

  • Don't Disturb My Study

    3. Don't Disturb My Study

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 24 episodes

    8.0

I gave this eight stars because I think I would have loved it when I was 15, so it must have some merit.  I'm almost half a century past that now, a lot more critical and demanding of intelligent writing regardless of the genre.  I've very much lost my patience for cliche scenes, behaviours and characters...sigh.

  • The Best Day of My Life

    4. The Best Day of My Life

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 14 episodes

    1.0

Childish.  Cliche infested. Exhausted plot paths.

  • Memory of Encaustic Tile

    5. Memory of Encaustic Tile

    Chinese Drama - 2022, 34 episodes

I found this to be juvenile, both the characters and the intelligence level of the writing.  I watched three episodes and just couldn't get into it because so much of each was filled with very little substance...just teenagers behaving like absolutely no teenager I've ever met...or imagined, for that matter.

  • The Tale of Rose

    6. The Tale of Rose

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 38 episodes

    8.0

Full stars for casting, acting and production but, I had to drop it after nine episodes.  A guy is constantly hurting you and all he has to do is show up and aggressively kiss you and then everything is okay...every time???  Sigh, to each his own I guess.

Not my thing, but everyone else seems to like it.

  • Be Together

    7. Be Together

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 35 episodes

    6.0

Six stars to be counted as 9.9  for casting, acting and all the production worker bees that make a thing happen.

    Dubbing was cringy in parts.

The writing? It made me itchy.  I felt like I was watching years of the lives of a multitude of completely different species  where none spoke the same language and all behaved according to their individual and very different planetary customs.

  • Love Is Panacea

    8. Love Is Panacea

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 34 episodes

    5.0

I just couldn't get into it.  This is my second attempt.

I found the whole thing to be slow and low budget because of the cinematography.  I all out groaned when the ML came walking in through a translucent haze in the first or second episode...gag.

I also found the writing for the FL to be considerably less intelligent that the character warranted.

  • Tears in Heaven

    9. Tears in Heaven

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 41 episodes

    1.0

After only a few minutes into the first episode, I had to flee for my the sake of my sanity.  It only took that long to clearly see that this was going to be a cliche hell.

    -cringy dubbing.
-adult women sounding like pouty, immature 10 year olds.
-script sounding like it was written by a pouty, immature 10 year old.

Because the script appears to have been written by a child, the three points above are just the tip of the iceberg...but I don't want to waste the energy writing them all out.

  • Sunshine by My Side

    10. Sunshine by My Side

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 36 episodes

    5.0

Dropped after 3 episodes because the writing was...well...groan.  I think both of the leads deserved better.

The points below start right from the first episode, so I was already angry.  However, I did give it a chance and watched two more episodes which just added fuel to the fire.

-The ML's bestie is like a swarm of gnats, noisy and annoying.

-Right away there is the harbinger of doom...the love shape...this one starts as a triangle...just stop.

-The ML's boss is a parasite.

-The FL's husband is a philandering, narcissist who wants his cake and every other piece of cake that walks by in a skirt.

    Nope.

  • Qing Luo

    11. Qing Luo

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 24 episodes

    4.0

If you're into cheesy, cliche ridden stories that have a lot of over exaggerated characters and enough pot holes in the story to drop the differentials on a Humvee...this is the one for you.  I just watched the ML in The Blood of Youth (which was brilliant) and came here hoping  to find the same...NOT!

I painfully watched the first two episodes in their entirety, this broke me so I started skipping ahead and watched bits of a subsequent ones in hopes of the production redeeming itself...NOPE!

I finally had to drop it to save my sanity.

  • Love and Redemption

    12. Love and Redemption

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 59 episodes

    4.0

Childish. I couldn't even get through the first episode.

  • Love Better Than Immortality

    13. Love Better Than Immortality

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 40 episodes

    4.0

I'm not a fan of adults sounding like children or over exaggerated 'comedy' so, after a few torturous minutes of listening to the FL's character, I had to drop it.

  • The Legendary Life of Queen Lau

    14. The Legendary Life of Queen Lau

    Chinese Drama - 2022, 36 episodes

    4.0

Not my thing.  I'm all for a good comedy, but I prefer it to be intelligently written and believable...this is neither.

  • Wulin Heroes

    15. Wulin Heroes

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 22 episodes

    1.0

I copy-pasted the following reviews from Viki  because they are my people... we  three were obviously separated at birth.

    From jjmabae_80:
"omg - what in going on here? i know Cdramas love FLs to act like children but this particular type of FL was too hard to watch. How can anybody be this stupid, dense, clueless and easily manipulated over and over and over again. exhausting. And the storyline was boring and the characters were terrible. I even tried to jump episodes hoping it will get better - nope. it was consistent in its terrible-ness. You should skip this unless you were really desperate to watch something".

    From v26gemini_554:
"I don't know if I have the strength to persevere with this rubbish... In the first place, how did she manage to lose her ability to become invisible?... It simply disappeared without explanation after the first episode... This would have helped her avoid these unpleasant situations -- like dying... And how come these men are so obsessed with her?.... She does not give an aura of a woman capable of inspiring obsession... In fact if I were a man, I'd dump her sorry ass in 2 seconds... And I know, I know, she's supposed to be "naive and innocent"... However that should not equate to stupidity and total lack of common sense... I wish these writers would stop making "innocent" = "stupid and gullible".

  • Miss Crow with Mr. Lizard

    16. Miss Crow with Mr. Lizard

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 36 episodes

    4.0

Almost every male character in this series behaves like an absolute dick participant in a HUGE pissing contest.

While I think the ML is a good actor, someone else coined his characters correctly as...always with the 'stink face'...same for this series.

I only made it to episode 5 before I fled.  They gathered all the nauseating character and situational cliches ever created by lazy writers/directors/producers/editors, fed it to themselves then collectively barfed it onto a storyboard.

Did it ever have the potential to be something intelligent...yes...if it's journey from pen to product had only been passed through hands that were attached to intelligent minds keen on quality rather than quantity.

  • Romance of a Twin Flower

    17. Romance of a Twin Flower

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 38 episodes

    5.0

I had to drop it at episode 7.   I can't handle anymore of the adult women talking and sounding like 5 year olds.

If you're young, not interested in the intelligence value of a show or just want to look at eye candy, have at 'er.

The leads are good, they've made good with the not so good material they had to work with.   I found a lot of the support actors to not seem to have the same level of experience or perhaps ability.

I think this script, in better hands, would have had the opportunity to shine across the genres it's meant to span.

  • Miss the Dragon

    18. Miss the Dragon

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 36 episodes

    4.0

    I'm 3 episodes in and I'm done.

The dialogues are something I would expect of a 6th grader.

    The 1st FL's character...child like...too simple for an adult.

    The 2nd FL's character...childish...adult sounds like a spoilt 5 year old.

Initial events are ragged, disjointed and rushed...also written by a 6th grader.

  • The Princess and the Werewolf

    19. The Princess and the Werewolf

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 30 episodes

    4.0

I'm going to write as I watch so there will be continuous editing. First episode started off quite well, I adore the FL's acting and character. The script and plot also have potential. I'm not sure of a lot of things, but I am absolutely positive that there is no king on the planet in any era that would have tolerated the blatant, relentless insubordination carried out by the female head guard. WOW! How exactly did that high strung brat get her job...and keep it? Yes, it's fiction, but even fictional characters should have a believable foundation.

EDIT:  I just tried watching this, I thought it was for the first time as my review wasn't visible when I looked for it.  So, it seems I watched all the way through the first time, this time I watched a few episodes and then started skipping 1 or more at a time.   At episode 14, I gave up.

This is another script that wouldn't have surprised me if it came second in a 5th grade in-class contest for the best story.

There are many painfully overexaggerated characters amongst all the other cliche crap.

  • Go Back Lover

    20. Go Back Lover

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 24 episodes

    4.0

The actors all did their jobs well, and all stars are meant as 10 for them.
The writers and everyone that allowed their slop, you get nothing.

OMG, I was angry almost from the beginning.   These are supposed to be educated intelligent people whom all have to work with consumers right up to investors and CEO's, which means they MUST have some form of communication skills, yet, here we are with a plot that couldn't have existed if ANY of them had put forth the skills they were born with.

    1.  If an ex was forced on me that way...I'd quit my job.  I'd rather live in a box on the street eating out of the garbage, even if our break up was amicable and we still got along.  Work does NOT have the right to impose my private life on me!

    2. The FL's male friend, that I assume is or will be part of the love shape, is a dick.  If one of my friends interfered with my life the way he did when he did exactly what she asked him not to...see ya buddy.  I dropped this at episode 4, which was his first step into dickdom, I'll bet my left arm, it will go on endlessly throughout...so that shows that the FL's character is more concerned about not losing the friend than any respect for hers, the ML's or anyone else's dignity.

    3.  Ugh, I just can't

I won't even attempt to watch this again.

  • My Little Princess

    21. My Little Princess

    Chinese Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

    4.0

Childish.  I only made it about 15 minutes into the first episode...

  • The Best of You in My Mind

    22. The Best of You in My Mind

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes

    5.0

This is fine for the younger crowd, this rom-com was made specifically for that demographic.

The acting is fine, no stars off for them.

The FL's character behaves and sounds like she hasn't even made it to high school yet.

    I dropped at episode 2.

  • Midsummer Is Full of Love

    23. Midsummer Is Full of Love

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes

    1.0

Full stars for acting.  No stars for anything else.

Even without the annoyingly endless stream of impossible coincidences, the FL's 'friend' sold her house from under her...a house that the FL's father left her, the house that has all of her memories and her work.

I dropped this during episode 2 because I predict the 'friend' will be forgiven for her self-serving destructive actions and it will be back to "Omg, besties forever...tee hee, tee hee'.

    NOPE.

  • Intense Love

    24. Intense Love

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes

    6.0

The acting was fine however, I found the FL's character to be considerably less mature than her age called for.   I don't find that cute or funny...that's just lazy writing.  Intelligence and whit are what I look for in the leads...if it manages to encompass the entire cast...hahahah, like that will ever happen.

I couldn't get through episode one...

  • Fall in Love with a Fox

    25. Fall in Love with a Fox

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 29 episodes

    4.0

So many of the characters are childish, including the FL and her bestie.  I don't find it funny or cute.

Also many overexaggerated characters that aren't funny either...ugh.

I dropped this in the second episode.

  • Fateful Love

    26. Fateful Love

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 40 episodes

    3.0

This series contains both good writing and crap writing.   Some characters are really well written, but most are absolute buffoons.

After 19 episodes of skipping every scene the crap characters were in, I'm stopping.  I probably ffwded through nine episodes worth of garbage.

I found the lead characters to be acceptable for the most part, each of them can be dicks at times but overall, cool.   I also found the acting deserving of the parts.

  • The Wolf

    27. The Wolf

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 49 episodes

    1.0

Another script stolen from a 5th grade teacher's marking pile...
Crap script, crap character development, ridiculous side characters/behaviour....I dropped it at episode 5.

  • The Flame's Daughter

    28. The Flame's Daughter

    Chinese Drama - 2018, 52 episodes

    3.0

I'm dropping this in episode three.  It seems that every episode has people doing things that make absolutely not sense, and are allowed to.

    ex.

Two randoms:  I'm a nasty vicious hag and he's a 12 year old boy in a man's body, at your party we behaved like the losers that we are, I didn't get my way, neither did this man boy, so we are coming with you to the home of the FL character, we are not asking!

Everyone in FL's entourage: Uhm...okie doke.

    What?

    Every scene had this.

Also, is the ML character that plays the stringed instrument supposed to be so damn creepy?  Was that the intent?  Because, damn, I rarely have the sense to be afraid of anything...but my brain kept yelling 'stranger danger'.  And the FL is taking him home because he said he chose her to be followed by him for the rest of his life...WTF????  And then all the other adults okay it???? Triple WTF!!!

    AHHHHHHHH, I just can't.

  • A Talented Girl Grows Up

    29. A Talented Girl Grows Up

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 24 episodes

    4.0

I really wanted to like this because the humour cute as was almost everything else...HOWEVER, we are inundated with nasties that are nasties for no reason, blatantly so and unrestrained by those that would and should restrain them.  The nasties are overacted, slapsticky caricatures of  proper villains... This leaves a dark poop stain on an otherwise simple and enjoyable production.

I dropped this at episode 11...sigh.

  • A Beautiful Lie

    30. A Beautiful Lie

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 36 episodes

Right out of the gate it is already drowning in cliches.  I can't.

  • Psych-Hunter

    31. Psych-Hunter

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 36 episodes

This started out fantastic....and then we got the female undercover cop...that spoke and behaved with all the maturity and wisdom of a 10 or 11 year old child.  Unfortunately, it feels like she is going to be the female lead and I just can't put myself through the torturous misery of having to listen to her for the entirety of this series.

  • The Romance of Tiger and Rose

    32. The Romance of Tiger and Rose

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes

    8.0

This started getting out of hand in episode 9 but completely fell apart in 10.  Given the temper and temperament of the FL, how they had her behave after finding out that the ML rigged the contest for her and how she should have behaved...yep, you guessed it...completely contrary to everything about her.   The contrary compounded exponentially after that.   I couldn't anymore.

  • Good Bye, My Princess

    33. Good Bye, My Princess

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 52 episodes

    9.0

I made it to episode 3 before the immaturity of the FL character became too much.

  • Smile Code

    34. Smile Code

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 34 episodes

    8.0

I had to drop it at episode 8.  I find the FL's character to quite interesting and likeable...except that even whilst knowing that the ML has a medical condition, she still behaves and speaks far too often like an immature 13 year old  in the throes of an an unrequited first crush.  This was disappointing as the story itself is not awful.

  • Love Is Sweet

    35. Love Is Sweet

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 36 episodes

    6.0

Part way through episode 2, the anger that had been slowly increasing hit DEFCON 1.  The ML's character is an absolute juvenile dick...and I mean juvenile...thinks tormenting someone almost to death is fun...and I'm pretty sure he'll later claim that he always loved her, and that's why he did all those nasty ass things to her...nope.   Included in this is the loss of respect for the FL's character, for throwing her own self under the bus.  I get not letting someone else decide your life for you, I'd retaliate 10 fold,  HOWEVER, I have an ex  exactly like this...would I do all this to prove him wrong and then have to see him every day???? HELL NO, I'd rather have all my fingernails pulled out and be in labour for the rest of my life.  There are other ways, that DON'T involve you biting your nose of to spite your face...BAH!  Who writes this crap? Who okays it? ARGH!

This pisses me off, because I like all the actors in this series, and it had the potential to be intelligent and funny.

  • My Lovely Wife

    36. My Lovely Wife

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 22 episodes

    6.0

I enjoy watching these leads in whatever they do, but that doesn't mean I can always stomach the writing...I somehow made it to episode 6 before I couldn't take the step dragon, her dragonette and the FL's father...wow...awesome family.

A lot of mindless nastiness and getting away with it because the people that should be kicking you to the curb, don't.

I'm sad that I have to stop, but my sanity...what's left of it, is of more value to me.

  • Perfect Her

    37. Perfect Her

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 20 episodes

    5.0

A whole show of watching the red dress biatch...nope.   Someone explain to me how a person can start a fire at a gathering in a rented hall...in front of EVERYONE and still gets to walk away...wtaf?

Half way through episode 1, I'm done.

  • Love under the Moon

    38. Love under the Moon

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 48 episodes

    1.0

Nope.  Father fecks off,  abandoning his sons for another life, comes back years later and TELLS them they are going to go and live with him....and the mother supports this...even if it is to give a kid a better life, what twat of a parent just drops those bombs without first discussing it with their grown child?  Worse, mother knows how oldest son feels about the father that abandoned them and SHE thinks he's the one being unfilial and disrespectful?  BAH!

  • Stay with Me

    39. Stay with Me

    Chinese Drama - 2016, 38 episodes

    1.0

I'm dropping this at episode 1.  The annoying music is constant and so loud that you can hardly hear what the actors are saying.  The voice overs are horrendously out of sync and sound flat.

  • Hello, I'm at Your Service

    40. Hello, I'm at Your Service

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 24 episodes

    6.0

Too silly for me, I couldn't even make it through the first episode.

  • Boss & Me

    41. Boss & Me

    Chinese Drama - 2014, 34 episodes

    5.0

Five stars to be counted as 10 for everything except the writing.  Episode 10 was well past my usual 'give it a chance' limit but I enjoyed the acting and most of the story so I suffered on hoping it would get better quickly. The boss character is a decent caring human being to everyone but the FL...her he torments at every opportunity and if there aren't enough opportunities to entertain him, he creates them.

Ahhh...I remember that giving and getting that sort of attention...WHEN I WAS 10!   If this was a story about 10 year olds, I'd probably watch the entire series because that annoying behaviour at least makes sense.

    So that's it for me.

  • Something Just Like This

    42. Something Just Like This

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 47 episodes

    7.5

I like all the actors, the story might be good, couldn't get through the first episode because of the FL character that wouldn't understand the meaning of respect for others if it ran her over.  Making the scenarios comical doesn't make them any more acceptable.

  • The Moon Brightens for You

    43. The Moon Brightens for You

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 36 episodes

    8.0

Someone else found the FL character to have the mental capacity of a happy toddler but said that after persevering through episodes, she matured into someone likeable and worth cheering for.

I was ready to give up after 10 minutes into the first episode but plugged on because of that review.  I made it to episode 5 before my resolve collapsed...still in the toddler stage.

I wanted to give it far fewer stars but out of respect for the acting and the production itself, 8 stars are to be counted as 10.

The writers and everyone that went with the cliche FL no stars for you.

I'm in the very tiny minority so watch it and decide for yourself.

  • Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red-Moon Pact

    44. Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red-Moon Pact

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 36 episodes

Dropped during first episode.  FL character is a bitch.  She probably turns nice later, but first impressions and all.

Everyone else likes it so decided for yourself.

  • Burning Flames

    45. Burning Flames

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 40 episodes

    5.0

I was watching this on iQIYI...it has a rating of 9.6/10...I am confused..

The CGI is dreadful and the writing feels like the work of a 10 year old.  We have cliches ad nauseum, ridiculously exaggerated characters, adult characters that behave like 10 year old bullies in the midst of kind and tolerant people...and no one bats an eye? REALLY???

Oh, it just goes on endlessly.

The only positive is that for the most part, the acting was okay.

I gave it a fair shot.  I watched the first 5 episodes before my will to live through another dissolved into a sad puddle on the floor.  I skipped to 7, still crap, skipped to 9, still crap, skipped to 13, still crap, skipped to 16, still crap...I'm done.

Almost 22,000 people do like it, so my review won't apply to you unless you are old, grumpy, and have apparently unreasonable standards.

  • Everlasting Longing

    46. Everlasting Longing

    Chinese Drama - 2025, 30 episodes

    8.0

Everything except the writing gets 10 stars.   I am at episode 15 and can no longer bear the adult brat female characters that talk and behave like spoilt toddlers...nor the FL character's uncle and cousin...sigh.

    I'm done.

  • Nothing But You

    47. Nothing But You

    Chinese Drama - 2022, 24 episodes

Probably not awful, but I can't get past the obvious FL voice over and the writing is a little juvenile for my taste.

  • Their Wonderful Time

    48. Their Wonderful Time

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 26 episodes

    6.0

It had potential, but I found the writing to be a bit juvenile.  I made it to episode 5 before I threw the towel in.

  • Time and Him Are Just Right

    49. Time and Him Are Just Right

    Chinese Drama - 2022, 25 episodes

    5.0

nlwhit_418 said exactly what I was thinking and didn't make it any further than I did. (Reviewer from Viki)

'FL is bizarre, embarrassing, inappropriate, pushy, stalky, and weird. Didn’t make it thro the whole 1st episode'.

The actors did the best they could with the slop they were given, so 5 stars to count as 10 for them.

  • Let's Meet Now

    50. Let's Meet Now

    Chinese Drama - 2022, 20 episodes

Well, this series had a lot going on and not much at the same time so I ended up skipping a lot of it over the 11 episode chance I gave it.   The funny is funny and the actors did their jobs well.

  • Cute Programmer

    51. Cute Programmer

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 30 episodes

    5.0

It's neither awful nor great...sitting well grounded in mediocrity.   Super short,  petite girl the size of an 8 year old, dressed like a man...fools men and women alike to get a job at a company...groan.

    I lasted two episodes.

    Kids will like it.

  • No Secrets

    52. No Secrets

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 32 episodes

    7.5

Acting 10/10, casting 10/10, writing mediocre, plot unimaginative.

  • My Deskmate

    53. My Deskmate

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 30 episodes

    5.0

Cute but very very juvenile.   Episode 4 was my limit.

    Acting 10/10

    Casting 10/10

    Writing...childlike 5/10

  • Love Crossed

    54. Love Crossed

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 36 episodes

    5.0

Oh, I wanted this to be something I could sit and enjoy because the entire acting cast are quite good at their craft.

The story itself is creative, but the jerk that holds them hostage...makes NO SENSE!  Makes even less sense that his super cool Aunt has let him be such a vile POS to the boys and not done anything about it.  And they had him flopping from violent aggressor to silly idiot...not cool.

Had they written him differently, I would have gladly watched every second of this...but having to FFWD every time he came into a scene got really annoying.

    Acting 10/10
    Casting 10/10
    Writing 5/10

  • Forever Love

    55. Forever Love

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 28 episodes

    8.0

I had to drop this at the part where the FL reaches for something she can't possibly reach and the ML comes up behind her and gets it for her (shocker).  GROAN!

I spent almost all of the time before that scene just being angry at her for meddling.   Her cousin is an absolute twat and her best friend isn't very good at her job.  The best friend, while supposedly intelligent (not according to her actions or script), doesn't have the where-with-all to function at the age she's depicted to be.

Eight stars count as 10 for acting.  The rest of the world likes this, so it's just me with the gripe.

  • Love You Seven Times

    56. Love You Seven Times

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 38 episodes

Dropped in first episode, cheesy, childish, really poor voice overs.

  • My Special Girl

    57. My Special Girl

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 24 episodes

    6.0

This series has all the maturity, logic and flow of an 8th graders fantasy.   In other words, it's written to generate income and is directed toward a very undiscerning demographic.

I tried giving it a chance...I made it to episode 7 before I tossed the towel in...and I was being over generously patient.

    Acting 10/10
    Casting 10/10
    Writing...meh.

  • Road Home

    58. Road Home

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 30 episodes

    9.0

This is my second attempt at watching this, with a year in between tries.  I don't know why, but I just can't get into it.  I like all the actors, I like that there's no over the top tripe, I like that it's calm...but here we are.

I appreciate the quality of the series so even though I can't get through it, I will still give it a high rating.

    Give it a watch folks

  • I Am the Years You Are the Stars

    59. I Am the Years You Are the Stars

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 24 episodes

    8.0

Well damnit!  This storyline had the potential to be something creatively decent...however...the obligatory cliches and trope tripe that we have come to know and hate strike again...thank you lazy writers and money grubbing funders that care nothing for the quality of the slop they put out.

    We have:
-the adult LF character that behaves and sounds like a child
-the ML character, well, typical CEO type for C and K dramas.
-events and actions used to set up a scene, but are completely illogical in the context of well, everything.

This list will be endless, so I'll stop now.

  • A Date with the Future

    60. A Date with the Future

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 36 episodes

    8.0

If I was the ML character, and that childish, pushy FL was constantly up in my face, the series would have ended in episode 2 with a restraining order.

This production could have been carried, and carried well by crew of firemen.  They had enough diversity, comradery and humanity to make up for anything that a love story MIGHT have added.

I am all for strong female characters, but strong and pushy aren't the same damn thing.  I say the same thing about male characters that exhibit the same ridiculous behaviour.  ARGH.

I made it to episode 3, I'm done.

  • Tiger and Crane

    61. Tiger and Crane

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 36 episodes

    5.0

I like the cast but the writing is ridiculous.  I'm incredibly underwhelmed by the slap stick 'comedy'.  These over the top characters are annoying and unnecessary and are overused to deflect from lazy writing.

I only made it to the second episode before I had to quit.  I wish they'd give these talented actors the scripts they deserve.

  • You from the Future

    62. You from the Future

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 24 episodes

    5.0

Ever so lame.  FL sounds like a child and acts like one.  Parents send this child to negotiate taking the house back that the ML lives in???

    Two episodes did me in.

  • The Day of Becoming You

    63. The Day of Becoming You

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 26 episodes

I had to drop this, when they did the body swap, the ML character acted nothing like the FL had up to that point.   It was very much a man trying to act like a weak willed, incapable woman  rather than the FL character being trapped in his body.

I found this absurd and annoying.

I'm probably in the tiniest of minorities so give it a go and decide for yourself.

  • Eternal Love Rain

    64. Eternal Love Rain

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes

Silly, slap-stick, unintelligent, illogical and ridiculous.

  • Beauty of Resilience

    65. Beauty of Resilience

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 36 episodes

With only two intelligently written characters (ML, FL) I can't bare to watch this anymore.  The rest of the writing is slap-sticky, filler ridiculousness.

  • Phoenix Lands in the World

    66. Phoenix Lands in the World

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 24 episodes

While I like the choice of leads, I can't say much for the rest of this pile of slop.  It's slap-sticky with ridiculously unintelligent writing.

  • The Night Is Still Young

    67. The Night Is Still Young

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 30 episodes

meh.  If he's trying to save her, why did they write him as a total dick to her?  GROAN!!!

  • Northward

    68. Northward

    Chinese Drama - 2025, 38 episodes

The story is great, the writing is fantastic, the acting brilliant...but I couldn't get into it.   I think because everyone was just so loud.  I started skipping episodes after the first and had to stop at 7.

I don't think I'll ever have the energy to revisit this one.

  • Love of Petals

    69. Love of Petals

    Chinese Drama - 2025, 24 episodes

    2.0

I had to drop this in the first episode.  The FL's character is portrayed as a ditzy child...my very young grandchildren have never sounded that ridiculous.  This is a low budget slap-sticky production written by lazy lame writers...but whomever accepted their screen play and then okayed it's production...it's all on you, boys, all on you.

  • Mistaken Love

    70. Mistaken Love

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 24 episodes

    1.0

Aish, seriously...???!!!  The lead characters are a violent mess.

  • Love and Sword

    71. Love and Sword

    Chinese Drama - 2025, 24 episodes

    5.0

Ah, the dubbing and writing are horrible and the comedy is slap stick. I can't do it. Only part way through episode 1 and I'm done. If these things don't bother you, give it a go

  • Jade's Fateful Love

    72. Jade's Fateful Love

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 24 episodes

    5.0

It's just silly slap stick humour with a huge lack of intelligence.  It's disappointing as I can see that the script had considerable potential.

  • Love of Thousand Years

    73. Love of Thousand Years

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 30 episodes

    5.0

ML character behaves like an 8 yr old picking on the girl he likes.  It annoyed the piss out of me then and still does.  I started skipping episodes after the second one...for me, it didn't get any better.  Its another waste of a story with potential.  BAH!

  • The Blossoming Love

    74. The Blossoming Love

    Chinese Drama - 2025, 40 episodes

    5.0

I'm sure it gets better but the FL's character got on my nerves immediately and stayed there like a thorn through the entire first episode.  So I just can't.

Give it a go and judge for yourself.

  • Perfect Match

    75. Perfect Match

    Chinese Drama - 2025, 36 episodes

Ahhhh, I just can't get past the slap stick 'comedy' nor the OH SO WHINY husband of the one sister...WOW!  I only managed 2 episodes.  It's too bad really, had it been written with intelligence rather than the lazy writer's 'go-to' (slapstick) it could have been such fun.

Nothing against any of the actors...strictly the writers.

  • Follow Your Heart

    76. Follow Your Heart

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 40 episodes

I'm into the second episode and I'm not hooked.   The dubbing is 'off'  and the FL and her mother are a bit over the top for me.  It's a shame since I do enjoy the work of the two leads.

  • Les Belles

    77. Les Belles

    Chinese Drama - 2025, 26 episodes

    7.0

Not for me, its a bit silly.  I watched till episode 6 so I at least gave it a chance.

The acting is fine, just the writing annoys me.

Everyone else seems to like it so don't go by my review unless you are old and grumpy...like me.

  • Luoyang

    78. Luoyang

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 39 episodes

    9.0

This is a really good series and I highly recommend it.  It is intelligently written and has a clean flow to it.  HOWEVER, the character of the wife of the ML drives me mad, far too immature and childish.  She probably gets better somewhere along the line, but I don't have the strength to endure her developmental stage...ugh.

    Everything else is spot on.

  • The Mud Plough: A Ming Dynasty Mystery

    79. The Mud Plough: A Ming Dynasty Mystery

    Chinese Special - 2024, 24 episodes

Into episode two and am underwhelmed by the immaturity of the FL's character.  I can't continue.  It's a shame really, this story seems to have fresh plot ideas, so it's a waste that the FL is an adult child.

I don't have any patience for this, but it you do, give it a try.

  • Love at Night

    80. Love at Night

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 30 episodes

    6.0

6 stars to be regarded as 10 for acting.  Everything else...meh.  As for the story itself, same crap different pile.  We have the love triangle, the cheater/manipulator, the overbearing manipulative boss...but he likes the FL, so that's okay...not!  The ridiculous controlling parent, the spoiled rotten adult child, the wayward younger brother, the friends that do things behind the back of another friend 'for his own good'...regardless of what he says.  The friend that says 'leave that jerk, but jump into an new relationship right away because marriage CAN'T be out of the question.' The list is endless but my patience for it isn't.

  • Noble Aspirations

    81. Noble Aspirations

    Chinese Drama - 2016, 58 episodes

    7.0

I had to stop because of whiny, childish females in adult bodies.  These characters add nothing to any production yet they are in soooo many of them...is there a prerequisite book of cinematic law that requires them???  UGH!

Had they not been there, horrible dubbing aside, I would have enjoyed the series.

If this is something you don't care about then have a go.

  • Sword Dynasty

    82. Sword Dynasty

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 34 episodes

    8.0

Not awful, but not spectacular.  I didn't drop it because it was bad, but because I was getting bored.   How the ML's character was written and how well he presented that character was by far the only reason I made it as far as I did.   Had the rest of the characters been written and presented in the same manner, I would definitely have watched the entire thing.

  • Warm on a Cold Night

    83. Warm on a Cold Night

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 36 episodes

    5.0

The FL's character is an adult child...which gets really old really fast.  I didn't make it through the first episode.  The ML's  sidekick is LOUD and never shuts up...very slap sticky exaggerated character...ugh.  The FL character's god-father is a keystone cop, a bumbling drunk...sigh.

  • Legend of Fu Yao

    84. Legend of Fu Yao

    Chinese Drama - 2018, 66 episodes

    5.0

I dropped this in the first episode.  It feels like it's written by a child.  The FL's character is a petulant child and the others seem to just speak to fill space.

  • Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre

    85. Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 50 episodes

    6.0

This has the potential to be much better than it is.  The acting is okay but the dubbing isn't, it's monotonous and keeps dragging me into the cheap sound booth with it...I can't.

  • Buried City to Shut All Lights

    86. Buried City to Shut All Lights

    Chinese Drama - 2018, 36 episodes

    6.0

Ugh.  I watched to episode 7 hoping the petulant FL's character would stop being a whiny child who didn't get all the cookies for herself...nope.  I'm done.

Had she been written differently, I think I would have thoroughly enjoyed this series.

  • The Unknown: Legend of Exorcist Zhong Kui

    87. The Unknown: Legend of Exorcist Zhong Kui

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 40 episodes

    5.0

Bad dubbing makes everyone sound like a child that had no adult input after the age of 5.  The story might be good, but I can't sit through anymore episodes listening to that.

  • Grand Theft in Tang

    88. Grand Theft in Tang

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 24 episodes

This is probably good, but the dubbing is shallow and the characters are very exaggerated.  Also the whiney adult females...sigh.

  • Half Bright and Half Rain

    89. Half Bright and Half Rain

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 24 episodes

    6.5

I think I'd like the story/plot, but the dubbing...sigh.  Also the 'comedy' is slapstick...not my thing.

  • The Love by Hypnotic

    90. The Love by Hypnotic

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 36 episodes

    6.0

Ohhhhh, so very childish.  Adult females that act and sound like children.  Hard NO.

  • No Boundary

    91. No Boundary

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 32 episodes

Ahhh, very over exaggerated characters and the dubbing is awful.  I'm just part way through the first episode. I have to drop it.

I can't speak for the story itself so I won't take them down with my opinion.

  • The Heiress

    92. The Heiress

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes

    5.5

Silly with over exaggerated characters.  The only thing going for it is that they picked  female lead that looked like a man when dressed as one.  However, she still moved like a female impersonating a man, so that makes every other character an idiot for not noticing.

I watched two episodes to give it a chance...I'm done.

  • The Romance of Hua Rong

    93. The Romance of Hua Rong

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 24 episodes

Well, this is another production that is probably really good but can't be watched because the female lead's character is an adult that acts and sounds like a petulant 12 year old...sigh.

  • Twisted Fate of Love

    94. Twisted Fate of Love

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 43 episodes

    4.0

Groan!  This is a typical broody, self-centered, abusive CEO meets office girl who is supposed to be a strong, intelligent martial arts practitioner but fails on all counts...all dressed up in period costumes...sigh.

I made it to episode 7...

  • The Trust

    95. The Trust

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 30 episodes

    1.0

Slapstick comedy is not my thing...after a few minutes in, there it was. I watched a little more but then the poor dubbing kicked in.

  • My Dear Brothers

    96. My Dear Brothers

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 35 episodes

    5.0

Cute but silly, not my shtick...the younger crowd will probably enjoy it.

  • Snow Eagle Lord

    97. Snow Eagle Lord

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 40 episodes

    5.0

I'm only rating this so poorly for it's ridiculously low budget make-up/SFX , dubbing and production in general.

The story itself seems okay and the acting is fine.  The writing...well, it's kind of immature...like the FL's younger brother.

The dubbing make it's impossible for me to watch so I dropped it after one episode.

If my gripes aren't yours, give it a go.

  • Legend of Yun Xi

    98. Legend of Yun Xi

    Chinese Drama - 2018, 48 episodes

    5.0

Well, it is what it says it is, sort of.  A romcom but with a whole lot of not com.  I'd probably continue to watch it if it was intelligently written...buuuuut...it isn't.  Yes, it's a fictional story, but to have sooooo many characters that are incapable of anything except for the belief of either the existence of conspiracy or the making of it...kind of a stretch.  I found it difficult to follow early on because of illogical nonsense.  And why oh why is absolutely everyone in the palace so vengeful toward the FL when she enters it?  None of them knew her but went out of their way to be nasty...sigh.

I made it to episode five before my brain shut down.

I have a very strict set of rules for what a series 'must' and 'must not' contain...this one fails all over the place for me.  Dubbing is also awful.  If you don't have the same constraints, give it a go.

Nothing against the actors...they did their jobs well.

  • Legend of the Phoenix

    99. Legend of the Phoenix

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 41 episodes

Silly and seems to be allergic to intelligent writing.  The FL sounds and acts like a child.  I can't even judge the acting because the dubbing is crap.

    Dropped after one episode.

  • Love and Destiny

    100. Love and Destiny

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 60 episodes

    5.0

I tried hard to watch this since it got such good reviews, but it's just too silly for me.  The FL behaves and sounds like a 10 year old and her father is all slap stick.  Other characters are just too much.

The acting is fine, the dubbing is not.  It's also not written with a great deal of intelligence.

If none of these things matter to you, then have a go.
