Childhood connection shoehorned in there for no good reason

Childhood friends reconnecting as adults

Solving the mysteries of their intertwined histories

Tied together by a crime 11 years earlier

Not tied by the past - just fate/destiny with all those change encounters and tangled webs

So many childhood connections - made more complicated by the fact that one of them is actually from the past

Somehow literally everyone in this show is tied to that tragic accident 13 years ago

the DREAMS happen because of the CONNECTION because DESTINY obviously

Just another childhood first love situation - with just a dash of political intrigue, hidden identities, and murder

We're going to count it since she was trying very hard to cover up their college connection

It's that regretful revenge cycle, traps you every time

It's that pesky Full Moon Murderer, messing up both their young lives

Pretty much the most complicated, convoluted, twisty bunch of identity connections, so after a while you just roll with it

Pretty convenient that he just happened to go to high school with his daughter's favorite actress

To be fair, the show is very overt in its portrayal of the town as a town of fate

The twisted hand of fate runs right through the twisted wreckage of that shopping mall

Plot hole - if he really did see her at a wedding and basically fall in love at first sight how on earth did he not recognize her when they first met??? I call BS

To be fair, he knew about the connection the whole time

Of course she's the mysterious person who saved him all those years ago

Childhood friends meet each other again as teacher/fake student

Bonded by childhood and many, many traumas

Past connection between loan shark and client

All these chance encounters; just waiting on the final one

They'd rather not have a past connection in which he basically got her fired

So many missed opportunities in college

In a nice trope subversion he finds out pretty early
