My favorite BLs

Since years ago I started a list titled "Every BL I've ever seen, ever", a few patterns have crystallized in what constitutes a good (BL) series for me. I have come to rewatch some shows over and over, and have decided to make a list of what, until now, I'd consider the absolute crème de la crème of BLs.

Keep in mind the chosen shows and the ranking represent my personal preferences, not the popularity or general rating of a show or movie. 

What makes a good BL?

- Is the BL memorable as a whole?
- Do I enjoy the dynamic between the characters?
- Does the series portray the situations and characters coherently and in a well-rounded manner?
- How much does the cinematography and style of the series contribute to my enjoyment?
- How emotional do I get watching this? 
This can be tears of sadness, awe, joy, butterflies, dread, any emotion counts.
No, cringe does not count in a positive way. Also, cringe is not an emotion, it's a physical response.

To add to my criteria:
I generally do not really care for a particular type of story, setting or dynamic. I enjoy stories with deep, complex characters more than sexy romance or exciting plots. Give me two characters who I will enjoy, and make them have an interesting and reasonable dynamic, pair it with some nice cinematography, and I'm hooked. I don't need hot shower scenes or dramatic savior moments, I don't need a second love interest or a love square. I want to see character development!

I enjoy watching people come together slowly, getting to know each other and accepting each other. 

Note on the ranking:
You will find series first, then movies. The ranking and rating don't necessarily match, you may see certain pieces of media being rated higher than other, but ranked lower, or vice versa. This has to do with the rating reflecting what I thought of the piece of media as I finished it the first time. I may have watched it again and come to like it more/less, which is why it is ranked as such.
