Top BLs To Watch

My first Thai BL and boy did this set the precedent. After this my expectations for this genre was so high until I met some of the other BLs where I feel like the writers did not give a rats a* and the actors just needed to look pretty, maybe kiss a little and collect their check hunny (and listen I am not mad at that because I would do it too *hairflip**) LOL

But yea this BL is the top I would not suggest you start with this one if you are new to BLs because after this you absolutely will be disappointed. Beautiful acting and visuals, intense emotions, the only thing is I felt it kinda got sloppy towards the end (last 2 episodes) with the ending but other than that a solid 9 rating from me the highest rating I have given ANY BL.

Absolutely beautiful coming of age drama even if one of the MLs pissed me off with how he treated the other one. It features all the makings of a good BL drama..superior acting, great visuals, the beach..all we were missing is the bowl of water with a rag (that every BL writer thinks cures every illness LOL) and a guitar (because every BL ML should know how to play the guitar and sing LOL) 

This story highlights how friendship can blossom into something beautiful and the coming out of one of the ML and accepting himself for who he is and not what he likes. I was glad I finally found a quality BL to follow up after KP and this one does not disappoint. My only complaint is it is TOO short only 5 episodes and it leaves you wanting more. 

Update I can confirm that with every rewatch of this I love it more, someone get these people on a new series together PLEASE

This is the continuation of ITSAY and again it PISSED me off to the core how one ML treated the other. But it showed beautifully the different layers of a relationship and the different phases a relationship goes through. It was a beautiful story that focused on their emotions and not their physical like some BLs (I will not name them, they use skinship to mask the fact that the show is trash LOL) 

It showcased being able to forgive but never forget (even though if it was me he would get the middle finger) Acting was amazing, writers did an amazing job, just an all around beautiful show even if you don't agree with the ending.  Rewatch value is soo dang high and again waayy too short I would love to see how they are working out their relationship with his fame and being an out actor. 

Apparently this has a similar show that a was filmed precovid I checked it out and the acting was nowhere near this one. The actors stepped their game ALL THE WAY UP for this show. Starts off HOT but with infidelity though *facepalm* but sometimes that's life folks (this is a no judgement zone). Very good acting and just a great story in general even if I wanted to smack the MLs throughout the story for being stupid. LOL that just means their acting was THAT GOOD.  Also had all the ingredients for a BL (bowl of water with rag, beach and guitar - oh the originality of Thai BL writers LOL)

Their chemistry is off the charts as well it makes you believe they are together because let's be honest some of these BLs they literally are just friends who awkwardly kiss or one ML looks like he could be the father and the other the son (which in case I cringe and drop because NO THANKS) Great show and worthy of being my number 5 for the acting, humor and chemistry alone. 

One of the dramas I really can not classify as a BL even though it had BL elements. This one had wayyyy more going for it with little to no cliches at all. Solid acting and crying scenes that I did not have to skip which is rare for me in Thai BLs.

I honestly would have been okay if this was just a regular drama with no BL element. The only thing I will say is some of the elements just were not realistic at allll. But that is okay in dramaland. Good show overall and worth a watch. 

So I heard this was one of the classics...right?? Do NOT quote me on this but it was a good story with relatively good pacing and believable acting. The story  revolves around a homophobic roommate who suddenly becomes attracted to his handsome and very gay roommate and how he deals (or rather tries to run away) from the emotions surrounding that. 

The story line and their chemistry keeps you engaged and it is easy to binge this within a few days if you have the time. Another BL with all the BL cliches (read main caption above LOL you guessed it they have it ALLL) I will say do NOT watch the sequel or anything after this show it is a complete waste of time unless you just like doing that then be my guest. 

This drama is pleasantly surprising so far loving the plot. Verdict in and I loved it. Not an overly intimate drama. I loved the storyline and the acting it was light and it was cute. So far one of the best to come out of this year for me. It does not have a lot of cliche so it was perfect. 

This story had one of the more unique plots than the rest. It did not revolve around relationships or focus on any BL relationship until well into the series and that is okay because they writers did a good job of captivating their audience. I can appreciate the lack of cliche and cringe that most BLs bring to the table. But with that being said when it came to showcasing their relationship I felt it was a little rushed/ forced the chemistry was not the best out the list for me and that is OK.

All in all the story/ plot saved this show and made it worthy to be included in this listing until I find something else and it moves further down. (I am a sucker for a good romcom and this was more fantasy) So fantasy lovers this is for YOU!

Ok let me tell you something....this one surprised me (pleasantly). I watched the first episode...I admit it was very hard to get through because ya girl and cringe is not a good mix. But a couple months later I said okay let's try this again and I am glad I did. This one gets mixed reviews but I swear if you can get past the first 2 episodes everything will be OK lol. 

Their chemistry ends up being amazing and I can see myself rewatching this in the future, hence why it is on the list. Sadly the sequel falls short (I think it was more of a cash grab and I also think they just wanted to kiss each other more LOL because what was the reason for it other than that lets be honest with ourselves) 

Admittingly this one did not WOW me but the story is unique and it had great humor and everything so I stuck with it. The unique story saved this one for me if only the chemistry between the two MLs came together earlier in the story that would have been great. 

Acting was good, the kids were the cutest and funniest (they were the stars let's be honest here) worth a watch but again as I continue in this genre I could see this easily falling out this list.

Typical hate to love drama, with the over used troupe of a parent that does not approve. With that being said I stayed to watch because of the chemistry of the main couple and also one of the ML it is nice to see his acting progression from this to some of his latest works. 

This could have easily been an 8 episode drama but you know BL writers love to dragggggg it out. I skipped through some of the side couples due to covid happening during the filming their are a lot of holes so save yourself some time and just enjoy the main story in all its cliche glory.

Not much to say here but just an overall cute feel good show. It does have an unnecessary confusing love triangle that they could have removed from the show (in my opinion it was a layer that did not need to be added)
