Beautifully made. Beautiful acting. Great chemistry. That intial shot with Li Yunrui in white hair will forever live rent free in my head. 

Honestly better than I expected. Going in without being a fan of neither the lead actors, I had very low expectation but it was actually good. The story was so enjoyable i was able to survive Yu Shuxin’s prepubescent voice. 

I can’t believe they let the boring man win the MC. What is this?! 

Both of you deserved better than this story. Actually all actors deserved better. I also deserved better. 

In a drama where Bai Lu is lead, I survived this drama because of the second pairing. Dai Luwan was the breakout star in this. She was amazing. Her story was also by miles a more moving one. 

If Zhu Ruiben has no hater I’m dead. 

I love Liu Xueyi. I wish his scripts loved him back though because I can’t do another year of this. 

What’s annoying about this somehow subpar drama is the female character was written so well. So good. Intelligent, decisive, strong, caring. But the rest of the story is just dull. ?

Some might say toxic relationship but I say get away from me if you don’t know what to do with an interesting story/dynamic. I can’t stand fluff so give me the toxic ones please. 

Now why would a man be there?!

This could have been a revenge story with a sapphic love story but they pushed a man in there. A wooden man at that. Ugh! 

I finished it not to be defeated. I rated it higher than 5 for my effort in finishing it. 

It was soooo good until it wasn’t. Fuck off with that ending. IQIYI you owe me money for the anger you caused me. 

This was surprisingly good! Character wise or plot wise this was very well done. The costumes and the visual is also a feast for the eyes. Liu Yunning and Song Zuer delivered wonderful performance and their chemistry was not disappointing.

First, Moonlight Mystique now this. Release my girl from mediocre scripts omg!

I think Liu Yunning has proven that he can have chemistry with anyone. He and Li Yitong did wonderful in performance balancing their serious tone as well as the comedic scenes. 

I was also very happy that the script didn’t throw in a last minute redemption arc for the antagonist. 

Rating it based off of the immortal realm arc. The demon realm arc was ass and the human realm was not much better. 

First of all they should have stuck to it’s chinese title. “Legend of the Female General” and the girl was not generaling at all. Zhou Ye’s performance was wasted on this script. I dislike how they wrote her character. Not to mention I found it so annoying the preachy tone it takes when talking about how women can do better than be house wives. Instead of advocating it comes of preachy and arrogant - like looking down at the other women. It’s a fucking historical drama. Women were raised to aim and strive to be WIVES. They didn’t have access to education. But the drama forgets all of that just for the sake of giving the FL the opportunity to scorn the scheming women and stand around lecturing them and the men that women can be ambitious too - while completely disregarding this “general” is only able to have access to the outside world because she was raised as a boy and allowed to roam the world as a boy. To add to this, the SML admires this woman and says to the WOMAN BODYGUARD that has been protecting him “she (FL) is not like other women. She’s ambitious and smart.” Boy if you don’t get out of my face with that hypocrisy.

She shot an arrow straight through his chest snatching victory from him. For that humiliation, he had her whipped and water boarded. And for that she bit the skin off his neck. And in return he punched her repeatedly and kicked her so hard she slid across the room and passed out.
She had him strung up from a tree, whipped him bloody and said “We’re even.” He bite into her neck and said “???, we’re even.”
This is how I knew it was true love. Romance is back baby! ??


I love Li Qin. C-ent rarely knows how to write a good character for her. She has the aura to play strong warrior type of women and I’m so happy to see her in this. Chen Zheyuan will always look young to me but he’s holding his own playing this wounded, ruthless yet soft-hearted character. The leads have good chemistry and the overall acting in this drama is good. Of course there are annoying and frustrating characters in there but it hasn’t shadowed my enjoyment fully. My only grip is that ending plotline with the Princess. Ain’t no way that dummy is fit enough to lead a kingdom. I love when women rule but I want it to be competent women. Passing Fu Yi Xiao even temporarily to hand over the throne to Feng Suige‘s little sister who had not demonstrated a single common sense through out the drama was egregious.

Another drama that was fun to start with but fails to stick the landing for the sake of mediocrely executed redemption arc (?) can’t it even be considered redemption arc? I don’t know, it was just not very good at the end. 

I’ve never seen a drama go zoom zoom through plot points like this. Not even a car going 30 miles above speed limit could have caught up with it.
you watch this for the love of the game. For Taiwan. 

It breaks my heart that Taiwan has fallen from being a serious BL producer because they used to be so so good. 

Rating it higher only because Jenny and I had fun laughing watching it. 

If it wasn’t for Hua Yong’s pretty red flags I’d have rated this rock bottom based on that script alone. 

The script felt like a fanfic of the novel but just for one CP. Clearly the authors themselves have a favorite and deny as they might, they were not able to hide it. Maybe it’s not a bright idea for authors of a novel to be the sole script writers? 

I just love a well written women characters. 

A wronged woman coming back from the dead (figuratively) to take revenge on the family that betrayed her. I love it. It did come apart at the seams towards the end but I enjoyed it for the majority of the drama. 

They could have gone with a direct translation of 宴遇永安 and called it The Banquet at Yong’an. But nooooo they said “Yummy Yummy Yummy”. If not trolling, why troll shaped?!

Terrible title aside, this was actually a beautiful drama. The family dynamic, the scrumptious looking food (even though I don’t eat pork I can admit a lot of the dishes displayed looked good to the eyes) and the angst with the romance. I loved it.

If only it had the budget that went to ABO Desire. The chemistry was undeniably there, the script was clearly written with love, the filming done with care but it’s biggest flaw comes from being unable to flesh out the characters and expand/showcase the plot in details not for lack of ability but lack of funds to allow the crew to film. They literally were chased off of the set because they couldn’t afford to pay for any more time. They had enough money for a box of noodles and a dream and they did the best they could. 

If I never have to watch ForceBook again in this life time it’d still be too soon. Other than that the other two CPs were actually cute. 

Let’s just say I’m glad this trilogy is done. 

I will have nightmares about that honey scene. 

Never in my life have I ever thought there would be a time I’d like a flag waving drama but I understand why they say “never say never”. Beautiful scenery. Wonderful story and excellent acting. This was just good!

Loved Chi Cheng. Disliked Wu Suowei. I think one can pretty much tell what my taste in characters is based off of this information alone. 

It needed to be longer.  I needed a little bit more.
