watching this with my husband on our wedding night and if he doesn't like it i am getting divorced immediately <3

"thank you for being born" more like thank you for stabbing me in the goddamn heart !!! loved this to pieces, def gotta see more of koreeda's stuff.

sometimes a family is a badass alcoholic space ship captain, a tattooed ex-convict who's actually a softie, a troubled ex-soldier & single dad grieving his daughter, a trans robot and their genetically modified adopted child teaming up to fight evil eco-fascist elon musk. what more do you want???

gripping, oddly comedic, wholly emotional and overall just one hell of a time (pun intended)

"the moment you said you loved me, your love is over. the moment your love ends, my love begins." devastated, shattered, broken, on the floor

my god park chan wook does get the concept of romance i gotta give him that

bawled my eyes out. death to fascism!

i suggest reading up on this guy he was pretty fucking insane in terms of 16th century naval military strategists, like for REAL

this sci fi action historical comedy adventure about two time traveling alien robot dads raising their future gun-wielding joseon warrior daughter is actually so personal to me. one of the most fun movies of 2022 according to the official critics consensus which is Me

pt 2 of this ambitious grand-scale blockbuster—mad respect for the PD who did not give a single shit about anything or anyone and just said go BIG or go home! not many will like this, as its genre mish-mash and time travel insanity might overwhelm you, but i loved this so much

fantasy-action-court-melodrama with sword-wielding grim reapers guiding a man's soul through the seven trials of hell continues -- also backstories, finally, and dinosaurs! AND ma dong seok. i loved these a lot and i'm hoping to see it all continued!!

the candle scene ??? sjk i will love watch you in every universe

a fun time! quite straightforward and doesn't waste any time in getting to the meat of things. also probably a fun drinking game for whenever someone says literally any korean swear word

gonna be real with y'all i watched this on 3x speed only to see kim jae young getting either beaten up or beating someone else up (thanks tjfh brainrot). that aside, very bland movie. would've been nice to see the teens backstories. kim jae young however? fantastic, brilliant, meant for greatness, give him 500 daesangs

i quite liked this -- absolutely not what you think it is but i think that made it even better. that twist had me shaking in my boots omg

me watching plane disaster movie that is tense and where the passengers are in danger: oh god this is so tense and the passengers are in danger!!! +++ im siwan playing deranged characters is just really neat

movie enactment of every paranoid person's worst case covid scenario. worth watching for the giant human garbage dump

so satisfying to watch because of how well filmed it is, cool transitions and color grading and all! plus ma dong seok punching people is always entertaining.

i NEED more of this! such a blast to watch. so many bits that had me in stitches, especially one needledrop that was so unexpected i actually couldn't believe it...

a tense, well directed north-south espionage thriller set against an icy cold russian backdrop, with small moments of melodrama sprinkled in. literally at any point i was waiting for jo in sung to just start flying. close enough, welcome back kim doo sik from moving (starts crying)

DO NOT PLAY THE SWEAR WORD DRINKING GAME WITH THIS MOVIE I REPEAT DO NOT DO IT. YOU WILL DIE

is it good? dunno. did i sob? you bet

while it isn't the next sci-fi masterpiece, i just really enjoy dystopic settings and robots and whatnot. overall narrative was lacking for sure but the portrayal of the mother-daughter relationship was great.

if they don't bring jinu back in the sequel i will jinjja kill them

a bit of snowpiercer with a lot more blatant real-life homage & overt zaniness than usual which worked for me at some points and didn't at others. still very classic BJH overall so i had some fun with it but it's not a favorite

i think jaeyeon should have killed more people actually . i think she deserved it !!!

how far are we willing to go to secure our own status quo?

another banger from pcw. always such a treat watching his directing because it's so creative and unique, even hypnotic to a point. lee sung min was a standout performance in this, that music room scenes was a riot lmfao

a family wins a trip to hawaii and gets entangled in a hijacking; chaos ensues, hidden identities are uncovered and kim nam gil somehow sleeps through the entire thing.

the chokehold kim young kwang has on me... this guy just has chemistry with anyone?? i didn't expect to be so invested but damn i cried a LOT at the end

gnarly as fuck with an absolutely sickening twist at the end. looks and sounds amazing but narrative-wise not entirely my thing. yoo ji tae was amazing as the villain however!!

a fun romp. ma dong seok's roles aren't always the most interesting, but he's just fun to watch. i love a stoic ahjussi with a heart of gold that beats scumbags up

talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before,— this is just the Movie Of All Time

i'm such a sucker for quirky, unusual love stories involving the weirdest, strangest people ever and this was just that. who will buy me a tree?

if i hadn't made up an insane alternative dr romantic x first responders crossover universe in which an evil kim sabu meets jin ho gae in a prison then this probably would've been a lot less fun. great perfomances by han seok kyu and kim rae won though and the action was neat i guess.

two junhos!! for the price of one kind of boring movie. maybe it was script and directing but besides junho there was little that made this interesting to me

so fucked up (and so much fun) and just gets more and more insane, holding surprises until the very end. wild and gruesome, uniquely absurd and totally all over the place but that's exactly how i like it. i haven't really seen shin ha kyun in anything else other than like half of beyond evil but he was damn awesome in this. great camerawork too!

(hollywood remake is bugonia)

one of my favorite dystopian movies! fantastic screenplay and ensemble and also super rewatchable. a symbolic depiction of capitalism as chilling and harrowing as the one we live under.

zombies FAST. gong yoo HOT. ending SAD

we all know this one we've all seen it (if you haven't then what are you even doing), we all know that gong yoo and his little daughter ate and left no crumbs. and ofc ma dong seok stole the show!

very simple premise but executed just right, despite the somewhat predictability of the story i was still on edge multiple times and also really like the way they snuck in some nice humorous moments. most importantly: the dog lives!

saw this ages ago at a sleepover uhhhh i think it was alright? due for a rewatch
