My absolute, #1 favorite JBL to watch. It's just such a sweet, innocent, coming of age/discovery drama that I watch when I'm indecisive about what I should watch next. It's like a mood reset for me.

Average watch. Not something I'd watch again, but the seme was cute. ?

I love every season of this. Hilarious how the MC tries to outsmart every potentially "dangerous" situation. ?

A rewatchable drama. I like the uke's awkwardness and his grit.

I don't remember this drama. I'll have to rewatch at some point.

I actually prefer this version to the Thai version.

Watched the movie when I don't have the time/patience/whatever for the longer episodes. Watch the series first, though!

A rewatch. I love how the seme pursues the uke unwaveringly once he sets his mind to do so. And the uke can't help but to fall. The episode/scene where the clumsy newbie admits to liking the uke to the seme is hilarious because of how the actor uses his eyes to convey his barely-suppressed emotions. I love it. I enjoy all these small details I missed during the first watch in every rewatch.

Not for the feint of heart, for sure. The way this was filmed and acted, I wondered if they didn't go all the way on set... Like, frfr. I give it to the actors, especially the one playing the uke/victim. That had to be uncomfortable to film- for both of them, to be honest. It definitely has that Stockholm feel to it in the end, but I've rewatched it (my psychology background brain is morbidly drawn to this story like a moth to a huge bonfire).

A rewatch. I felt the angst and the hope in this sweet story.

Hilarious. The uke is so expressive and has such a cute face with pretty eyes. I loved him SO much. Poor guy can't catch a break. And he's so over the top! The seme makes me happy too because he's so nonchalant but soft on the inside.

I don't even know how to rate this, tbh. It was so damn ? to me. I can't even watch it again.

Oh man! The whole WORLD was on edge with each episode. The chemistry was chemistrying hard core frfr.

I've watched this just a couple of times. Mostly because it's so sad it makes me ugly cry. I still wish for a different ending because why!

Loved it! The uke was the seme in Mr. Unlucky Has No Choice But To Kiss and I loved him in that. He played both very different roles very well, I think. I'm looking forward to more of his work! Hopefully BLs. ?

The way this drama starts with all joy and happiness, just to rip it away... And then the return? I was hooked, going back and forth all emotional like, the AUDACITY for much of the show.

This is part 2 of His: I Didn't Think I Would Fall In Love.

It was short, but Usa (uke) is a beautiful person. Like, I enjoyed their interactions on screen and the ending left me smiling. ?

Feel-good, innocent high school JBL. Super cute discovery BL.

It's a short 5-episode drama but with so much emotion in this coming of age story. Super sweet and cute.

I wouldn't really classify this as a BL. More like a bromance but heavy on the friends who simply live together. The main point is showcasing Japanese cuisine.

I enjoyed this drama. It frustrated me when bro suddenly just ended the relationship out of nowhere, then regrets it. Like, what? But their story is super sweet outside of this.

Cute university love story of childhood friends to natural distance to suddenly living together, while one has a one-sided crush on the other.

Update: The uke is in my absolute favorite drama Takara-kun & Amagi-Kun, as well as the new JBL (as of 2026) Are the Sexy Buttocks Not Good?

Both leads are gorgeous. Seriously. A true BL height/size difference, too.

Another one I rewatched while creating this list. I forgot how much I enjoyed it. It's pretty tame on the spice factor, but it's super sweet and has good, realistic character growth, which appeals to me. Doesn't hurt that both MLs are really attractive men. Like, frfr. Where do they find these guys?

Mid. I wouldn't watch it again, to be honest. The seme was the best character, IMO. The uke felt too awkward in a way that didn't feel character-related.

I've rewatched this a few times. Even though there's an age gap, I like that the seme is younger and actively pursues the older uke, He pushes him, but not too far outside his comfort zone- just enough.

The number of times I've watched this series/saga... I can't get enough of them, really. I guess my favorite is when JBLs have one of the leads as this tsundere type. He's a squishy teddy bear.

This is by far my favorite of the 3. I LOVE this one so much. Why do I love literally everything about it and wish they made another?

OMG I watch this an unhealthy number of times, sure. On the outside, it seems like a boring, pointless story, but it really has this depth of two people who have this misunderstanding from Day 1 and yet have lived together for 3 years, navigating a relationship that they've defined on their own, without a clear conversation. I love their co-obsession. Mizuki is ridiculously tsundere, with this dominating personality, while Yoh is always missing the signals. His eyes are mesmerizing, though. It follows the manga pretty closely, which I appreciate. Yoh's obsession with $ex, or the lack of it on non-sunny days but trying to deny that he's obsessed with it is hilarious.

Regardless of the controversy around one of the MLs, I enjoyed this story and believe they both acted really well in it. Along with the after story. It was emotional and touching.

I liked the seme but I wasn't really a fan of the uke cast. I didn't find him cute. He was just awkward to me. I liked the story and the manga though, so I didn't dock it points.

Absolutely rewatch! Zero things wrong with this drama. I would watch it again and again. I want another series with them after graduation. Please and thank you!

It's older but I really enjoyed how they navigated this story. It's in 2 parts. I wonder if they'll ever make a remake because I would totally watch it.

It was a huge let down. Totally outside of my expectations for a JBL. Would I rewatch? Nope.

Rewatched several times. Plus the spin off. Though I'm not a fan of the casting for the uke because he looks much older than the 20 year old he's supposed to be, nor do his eyes have that big and sparkly suck you in factor that his character is supposed to have. But my god, Yoji as the seme is one gorgeous man. Like, for real. And even better, he says a lot with his eyes. Like, they TALK. He's this aloof character hiding so much on the inside. Yoji plays Takara so well. I want to see him act in literally anything else, though he hasn't released anything since this, sadly. But I get to see him in my IG feed as a model.

Another drama where the casting for the uke made the show more awkward than enjoyable.

The NC scenes. OMG.

Aside from that, the ending is open so we have to hope for a happy one, which is why I didn't give it full stars. They could have given us a bit more closure. They left us literally waiting with one of the MLs.
