BL Series and Movies

I've tried to start watching this a couple of times and it just hasn't happened yet- something about it isn't grabbing my attention and I end up stopping before the first episode is over. Maybe it's because it's older, maybe it's because it's high school kids, hell maybe it's because of Drake's eyebrows- I don't know. I will try again when I'm desperate maybe.

Not going to lie, I watched it a while ago and can't recall much, but I did watch 2 Moons 2 so I obviously liked something about it! I do recall enjoying the actors in this version more, and there were issues that led to many of them being recast in the sequels. It's a classic, and I would say it's worth watching for sure, even if I can't recall everything.

Watched it as it came out- loved it up until the last episode. I haven't watched Still 2gether yet because I was angry, but I will watch it eventually. Still, this series did a lot to boost the popularity of Thai BL's outside of those already aware of them.

I really, really enjoyed this show- OhmNanon have amazing chemistry and it was both heartfelt and funny. The enemies to lovers trope is strong with this one, but it's so well executed that I don't even care. Be prepared for warm fuzzies and a bit of frustration and then more warm fuzzies.

A must watch.

I love KornKnock, and I started watching this for them (Yiwah is also pretty great tbh) but I got to episode 8 and dropped it for some reason. I think it's worth a watch if you love KornKnock, but since Together With Me was filmed after this the stories don't exactly match up. It is mainly a straight drama, so be aware of that.

This has an incredibly pretty cast- like wow. It's sweet and frustrating like your general BL, some of the plot points felt a little drawn out but overall I don't regret watching this one. It gets extra points for being Taiwanese, simply because yay legalized gay marriage.

Watch if you have the time and want something a little sweet and a little angsty with decent, attractive actors.

It's cute, it's fluffy, it's Japanese, and it's one of those shows you should just watch honestly.

It was pretty cute, I love EarthMix as a couple so I gave this a shot despite not being a fan of body-swapping stories (thanks The Shipper) and I really enjoyed it. I would recommend watching the version provided on YouTube- I started watching it there and then binged the last few episodes on a- ehem- different platform and they weren't as polished. Did it blow my mind? Not really, but it was cute and I enjoyed how they approached the body-swap aspect of it.

Watch if you're in the mood for a cute angry Mix and a doting Earth, if you're having a hangover from ATOTS or if you just wanna see two bros going on a time-sensitive road trip and running into ridiculous situations along the way. 

I'm torn on this one tbh. While I didn't dislike anything about it while I watched it, and the chemistry between all the actors was on point, there are a few issues I have with the plot. That being said, I don't regret watching it and didn't hate the ending. If you want something fluffy to watch, it isn't bad. If you want pretty actors, a LOT of intimacy, and some great singing scenes (Nunew is the first singer in a series like this that I haven't skipped at all tbh) then this is probably worth a watch. ZeeNunew is a beautiful ship and their chemistry is great on and off-screen.

Overall, worth a watch if you don't mind turning off your brain a little.

I need to rewatch probably, I don't recall much of it. I gave it a 7.5 which generally means I don't feel like I wasted my time (I mean if I finish it already says a lot,) but It obviously didn't blow my socks off since I can't remember much of the plot. 

Ugh- so much potential, and then just not. I have strong feelings about this, but I don't want to spoil so let me just say- it has its cute moments, but by the end you just kind of feel sorry for one of the MLs.  Watch it if you like a bunch of cute guys I guess, but it lost its allure pretty fast for me.

Okay, let's put it this way- I watched this once, didn't mark it as completed in my MDL, promptly forgot that I watched it, so I watched it again. It's cute, don't get me wrong, but it didn't stick in my head as a standout show. That being said, I did finish my rewatch of it so it isn't bad, just... average? Even now my goldfish brain is having issues recalling what happened in it, and I watched it just over a week ago. Also, they tried to make an obviously attractive person seem less attractive by making him a 'geek' but failed miserably IMO.

Watch it if you want something lighter- it's not bad, just not outstanding.

This was cute and my first Filipino drama. I watched it right after it ended so I was still stuck in quarantine- not sure how it will hold up topically now that we are back out in the world but I think it was still well filmed and one of the first series filmed in the style it was, I believe.

Worth a watch for sure, it was super popular when it came out and the boys are cute.

I don't typically like ghost romances since I am a sucker for happy endings and they just generally... aren't? But this one was super cute and well done and is definitely worth a shot. I don't know why it wasn't as popular as some other BLs but you have Singto from SOTUS and Ohm from Bad Buddy and it's honestly super cute.

Definitely worth a watch, IMO.

Watched this forever ago, don't recall it entirely, but the HIStory franchise is usually decent and since they are Taiwanese I love them because it is- currently- the only country in Asia where gay marriage is legal, so the romances feel like they can go that extra step. I gave it 8 stars at the time, as it was one of my first BLs- would probably go a little lower now, might rewatch if I have time to see.
