I rewatched this week the Running Man ep with the movie's cast (minus Lee Jong Suk -why?) and had to catch up the movie. The movie was nice, with really great actors but I can't say it was very original. It's difficult being a captain, and I think he's done a great job. I don't know though if I would've done the same, I think it's easier to die together than living with the survival guilt..
btw Did someone understand who exactly was Park Byung Eun? and how he knew everything?
p.s It's funny how in both the movie and the RM ep, the scenes aren't shown in the order it was filmed. Kim Rae Won is with his jacket on, then he takes it off and magically he appears with it back on and then off again? How come?
p.s2 Did others feel Doctor Stranger vibes too while watching LJS with that medical gown? Pity his motives weren't the same in the 2 productions ;)

  • g@me.

    109. g@me.

    Japanese Movie - 2003

    8.5

I usually don't really pay attention to the Japanese recommendations in the articles, but this time around I recalled seeing good feedback about this movie so I checked it out.
The movie was full of surprises!! You could literally see me, more than once, doing the emoji face (:0).
p.s: I watched it last night instead of using the last hours to study for the test I had this morning, and the ML has quoted a psychologyical experience that was in the material for the exam. Another time I was :0 lol

  • Homme Fatale

    110. Homme Fatale

    Korean Movie - 2019

To commemorate the return of the final piece of the 2PM puzzle, Mr. Lee Junho, I had to watch this movie.
It was a such a pleasant watch. Funny and touching at times.
Jung So Min is one of my favs since I was a young teen, and she just gets better and better as she ages.
Junho also did a wonderful job, and here I thought only my Biases Taec and Chansung are great actors.
Can't wait for 2PM's comeback later this summer *-* Such a proud Hottest

  • Bride Wars

I was constantly putting this movie on hold even while seeing a bunch of recommendations about it.
It wasn't anything like I imagined so I'm sad I've only seen it now, especially since I really love Ha Neul, but better late than never.
The movie is really mind blowing and shocking with every revelation. There are some parts you're not sure yourself if what you see is the truth and some others where you don't want to believe that what you see is in fact the truth.
Totally recommend. All the actors did splendid job.
*to clarify: my rating isn't perfect because it's just not my type of movie and only 2/3 in the movie I started finding it interesting. The beginning wasn't enough captivating IMO

  • Better Days

    116. Better Days

    Chinese Movie - 2019

    8.5

I got a recommendation to watch this movie when I asked for something with intense romance.
Can't say it was exactly the case here, but the movie was very touching. I'm speechless about the actors' skills, this is what you call- method acting. The story was quite immersing too.

I started this morning with my yearly tradition of watching my all time favorite Korean movie- Love 911.
Every time I watch it, I feel the urge to watch another production of the leads, so this year was Go Soo's turn and I came across this movie.
I won't deny, this movie wasn't easy to watch. It's one thing to see your favorite actor acting as a killer, watching him as a rapist is a total different story.
All of the cast did great job, but I personally felt that Han Seok Kyu's character was unnecessary.

Unrealistic movie but extremely hilarious at some parts. I loved the friendship that was formed between the soldiers and upset that the love story couldn’t get its happy ending.
P.S: I really disliked when they were dancing to Rollin. I get it that they want to use the hype of the song but it was plainly uncomfortable to watch.

Unlike its title, it’s a very depressing film. Many moments throughout it I had tears in my eyes, and even cried at certain points. It’s nice that they managed to get together through their illnesses but it would’ve been better if they were healthy.

  • Miss & Mrs. Cops

    147. Miss & Mrs. Cops

    Korean Movie - 2019

    8.0

This movie couldn't be more relevant now with all the dirt the Burning Sun scandal unveiled.
The movie is pretty funny though it lacks the thrilling feeling that I think they wanted to convey and therefore my rating isn't perfect.

  • Cheese in the Trap

    148. Cheese in the Trap

    Korean Movie - 2018

    8.0

I didn’t remember much of the plot, and I think it’s better this way.
His character was much softer in the movie but hers on the other hand, felt very trying and out of place (even tho Oh Yeon Soo is a great actress).
    Pleasant watch, but nothing special.

*Shouldn't have a sequel. Wow. I've arrived to the last day of the challenge, the longest challenge I took part in YAY Instead of doing a drama, I'll do a movie.
Along with the Gods was perfection, but the sequel was such a disappointment. Maybe if the first one wasn't that good, the expectations weren't so high. I really didn't enjoy it and I felt it didn't move the story one bit, and especially I was upset because my fav Korean actor appa Cha Tae Hyun didn't took part in it. I've heard they are planning on releasing a third one. I really hope it will be worth it.

  • Cry Me a Sad River

    154. Cry Me a Sad River

    Chinese Movie - 2018

    8.0

Sad movie with an important message but like other review, I also felt it was a bit rushed.
I looked at the time and almost the whole movie passed without enough emphasis on many of the problems/solutions that were brought up.
In her last speech, I recalled the mild bullying me and my friend experienced in our senior year in high school. It made me really think whether the bullies remember it as clearly as I do, but because they like and comment totally fine on my Instagram posts, I guess they do not.
Also, of topic, the FL looks a lot like Go Bo Gyeol. She looked so similar that I was really busy figuring out who she reminds me off throughout the beginning lol

Li Yi Feng is beautiful and both Yang Mi and Dilraba are gorgeous. The story really tried to touch a lot of genres, which to me was stupid and lowered the quality of it.

I’ll start with a short anecdote: Few years ago, we too almost didn’t get in time to our flight in Gimpo airport. Newsflash- We weren’t upgraded to Business for free. On the contrary, the sits my dad bought were taken away and we were seated at the back of the plane in the middle 4 sits part. So yeah, maybe if Uhm Jung Hwa gets late for her flight she gets business tickets for free, but don’t be fooled as ordinary people don’t ?
    Overall a fun movie.

I swear I saw this story already in a British series (Nightsleeper). Even the characters were similar, there too there were high schoolers and scandalous politicians. I think that if I wouldn’t have watched the British version I would’ve find the movie much more interesting since the concept is really intriguing, but I still give it a high grade cause it was well executed (though what's with the McDonald's commercial at the last minute of the movie lol). I loved though the cultural differences between the workers of both countries. It was great seeing how the Japanese system works and how serious the workers of the railway take their jobs. Nevertheless I’m sure in every country, even not in fiction, people with authority will act the same and put civilian’s (client’s )safety first.

Can’t believe Ming Xi took acting roles as well. I thought she was only a model.
But let’s cut to the chase- the comparison with the drama:
Pros- funnier, less feeling of a problematic age difference between the leads.
Cons- zero chemistry so you don’t really feel engrossed in the romantic story.
Nevertheless it was an ok movie, I love Zhou Dong Yu and the fact that I’ve seen the drama already made me get into the plot of the movie faster (obv).

What I liked the most is that for probably the first time in a really long time, a Kmovie showed us people in power positions that give up on bribery and stay true to themselves and their profession. And they acted this way not because they believed in the cause (which is a legitimate and true motive) but because they just had a human being's integrity. Hope there were more people like this in real life as well. Power corrupts and I'm happy they showed that it doesn't happen to everyone.
Have to say though that unlike many movies about this time period, this felt lucking.
p.s I think they credited few actors as guest roles because they had no more place on the poster lol Many of them had a very vital role, Kang Dong Won was even playing a real character, so it's really weird (btw how could they partner him romantically with Kim Tae Ri? He looks SO MUCH older!).
