Ranking of 2025 dramas I've watched- updating
-
1. When Life Gives You Tangerines
Korean Drama - 2025, 16 episodes
Not a chance I'll rewatch this drama, at least not in the nearest future. I can't handle again all this crying, especially from the last installment.
What a beautiful family (and villagers) story. I think that anyone who has good relationship with his/her parents was feeling moved throughout the plot. It got better and better, and more emotional with each ep. The acting was marvelous, especially the older cast. Park Hae Joon and Moon So Ri were just spectacular. IU also deserves a separate shout out for portraying so well 2 different characters (I counted 3 boys she had to kiss lol)
p.s I liked Kim Seon Ho's former haircut and stache, he looked interesting with it and eye-catching. What an artist looks so basic? ;) -
2. Resident Playbook
Korean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
I'm a sucker for Youn Jung, but I do understand the criticism about the drama being more about her life rather than overall about the life of residents. Also, even though I think it's mean to criticize that much a person's look, I also see where people who didn't like her love interest come from. Nevertheless, I liked them a lot together, they gave me butterflies and the fact that their family didn't found out till the end was hilarious. I'm still curious whether he liked her first, what do you think? ;)
I loved Hospital Playlist and I loved this one no less. Though the cameos at a certain point started to really bother me for taking too much screen time.
I think it was lovely to see their evolvement as doctors and how the professors started to appreciate them as well. I'm feeling sad we won't be able to continue watching them navigate through life.
And even though this, unlike the previous one, wasn't a musical drama, I think it has the best OST of the season. It's been few weeks since I completed the drama and TXT's song still No. 1 on my On Repeat on Spotify (and I'm not even a fan of the group). I also click play each time I get a short of the dance.
p.s I'm proud I didn't rewatch it. yet ;)
p.s2 I identified the most with Sa Bi when she was upset her mom who's a doctor never attended any of her graduation ceremonies. It's hard to be a doctor's kid as job many times takes first place :/ -
3. Everlasting Longing
Chinese Drama - 2025, 30 episodes
They're lucky the FL is the beautiful Angelababy or I would've started with my usual rant about the age difference. I don't think they had some explosive chemistry but I liked them overall as a couple. She was the rational one and he's the emotional, till the very last sec of the drama. I even liked ML's looks here more than in Go Ahead. Maybe it was the long hair? lol I even would've made a GIF of him running after her in the red wedding attire. He looked the best in it!
What I hated the most was the fact they really pushed for a second couple, even gave them a theme song, which was awful because of two reasons. 2FL was a total b*tch and 2ML till his last breath (literally) had eyes only on Angelababy (but who can blame him? ;))
The third couple was adorable though!
Final thoughts: It was a very predictable drama with bad CGI but each day when I came home the first thing I did was to watch the new ep/s so that's why I rank it this high :) -
4. Buried Hearts
Korean Drama - 2025, 16 episodes
When they announced how long the drama will be, I was happy that we will finally get a full length drama. Yet now, when I finally completed it (took me almost a month to watch the last 2 eps), I think it would've been better if the drama was shorter. What I loved the most about the drama was how dramatic and suspenseful it was, but this effect has drastically diminished closer to the end. This is a pity as I was planning to give it a perfect score even though they made a favorite actor of mine play such an evil character (and Huh Joon Ho has done it perfectly!).
The romance was great and a bit atypical for a kdrama with it's passionate scenes but those too had stopped very quickly. I think we all took the bait she was pregnant, they played us well lol -
5. The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call
Korean Drama - 2025, 8 episodes
I wasn’t planning to like it as much as I did (as medical dramas are mostly big flops and only a small amount of them are actually good) and I’m super happy for Ju Ji Hoon that redeemed himself after the crap he did last year with Yumi. It’s interesting also how they debated whether he’s good looking or not, and IMO although he doesn’t have a beautiful face, he’s still very hot.
I liked that they showed us how a managerial role changes the way doctors behave, but also that they can get back to their original mindset and professionalism. And so I loved Yoon Gyun Ho’s role. Kim Won Hae on the other hand acted like a total douche and I think it’s the first time I hated his character.
I had to convince myself at first that 2ML wasn’t Beast’s Kikwang lol but doesn’t he look like a mixture of him and UKISS’s Junyoung? ;)
Some weird CGI but they somehow managed to make it look better eventually. -
6. Our Unwritten Seoul
Korean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
It was a beautiful drama. Depressing, but beautiful. I didn't know at times with who I identify more, Miji, Mirae, Hosu. and I think the drama played a lot on the fact that to know you're not alone in your sorrow, is a way of comfort, even though I cried so much while watching the show lol.
I think Park Bo Young really needs to get an award for her performance. She portrayed the two characters so well and differently, than even I that know it's the same actress, managed to differentiate them. I like Jinyoung a lot but I was bummed her and Kyung Soo didn't get similar screen time. Their story was also adorable.
First time seeing Sun Young doing a good role. She's such a great actress. Overall it was really a family drama, that showed us with compassion the tangled and not easy relationships between few generations.
I loved how they filmed/edited the ending of each ep with that old camera. Very innovative :) -
7. Squid Game Season 3
Korean Drama - 2025, 6 episodes
Personally, I feel like it's getting better with each installment, or maybe it just grows on me and I become more acceptable of the story.
Yes I wished for a different ending, but that's what it is. I'm happy that at least one member survived this time too. I wasn't that fond of Wi Ha Joon's story in S2 and I'm not really sure it contributed a lot to the plot in S3 as well.
I saw the Korean critics about the pro life movement, and tbh it's not like someone reinvented the wheel. In real life as well, kids are being put top priority, whether you agree with that or not. But like them I also noticed the lack of women closer to the final and it bothered me too. -
8. Nine Puzzles
Korean Drama - 2025, 11 episodes
I don't know where you've seen the drama, but on my streaming the translation was so off it made me hard to concentrate. So maybe understanding Korean is a blessing in disguise.
Putting it aside, I don't know if there's anyone that didn't know who the culprit was the moment she appeared on the screen. Like why else a girl who does main roles will agree to be so indifferent to the story. But I want to still applaud the creators for keeping it suspenseful nonetheless. and also for the creativity of creating the puzzle pieces. What a work of art!
Points to think about:
1. Why Dami always does unlikeable characters? Is it her looks that attract scripts of this type?
2. Why Professionals like to watch so much shows of their profession? It made me laugh so much how Son Suk Ku couldn't stop quoting police officers and detective characters. It reminded me of my brother who's a doctor and is a sucker of medical programs. He even saw Hospital Playlist even though he doesn't watch Kdrama lol
3. What was the budget of the drama? How we had such strong guest appearances? Hwang Jung Min, Lee Sung Min and much more. It was just crazy! -
9. Head over Heels
Korean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
Very week last two eps to an overall nice and interesting drama.
At first I voiced my disappointment that Young Woo chose a high school drama, as he's already in the big league, doing mature roles with an A-list cast. Between the amount of slander I received (even one asking me the stupid question - whether I want real high school students to do romantic scenes, when that's exactly what they're showing on screen T_T), one linked interview with him that where he said he really wanted to make a coming of age drama while he's still young. I personally think he just has a thing for portraying two characters at once lol but he did it well, and so did the FL.
I think it's probably the best portrayal I've seen of shamans. They did it very cleverly, and the people involved all contributed to the creation of this fascinating fictional world. Great friendships and family relations too! -
10. Undercover High School
Korean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
It was nice at first then really picked up and eventually became boring. Mid drama I was really thinking I'll give it a perfect score but it started dragging and becoming way too predictable around ep 9.
Nevertheless I liked the high school dynamics and the students. The actress who played the headmaster was also so good at her role (and flexible too lol).
I didn't like though how they tried to show Seo Kang Jun as this unrivaled hero. Two secret service agents can't handle few gangsters but he by himself can? Jo Bok Rae definitely looks to have more muscle (for proof catch on Moving ;)
p.s Am I the only one thinking FL looks like an older sister of LE SSERAFIM's Chaewon? -
11. Mercy for None
Korean Drama - 2025, 7 episodes
So when gangsters die, even in double digits, nobody investigates it? cause multiple people were dying each episode and the police never came lol
I follow on Instagram both So Ji Sub (my decade ago crush) and Choo Young Woo (this year's crush) and one of them has spoiled the ending, I bet you know who ;) [off the record: it's true what they say, that women when young want older men and when they get older they start fancying guys younger than them lol]
Overall, I liked the drama, even with all the fighting scenes. and mercy for SJS for participating in almost all of them. I think I never seen Gong Myung in a more obnoxious role, and I loved how Ahn Gil Kang beat the sh*t out of him. Huh Joon Ho on the other hand was way too delicate with his unlawful son.
Can't understand why Cha Seung Won or Lee Jong Hyuk are mentioned as guests when the first had plenty of screen time since beginning till end, and the latter even participated in promotions of the drama.
Also, does Netflix takes all the criminals that aren't allowed on regular channels? First Oh Dal Soo in Squid Game S2 and now Lee Bum Soo here? What's wrong with them? Is abuse not a crime in the US? -
12. Heavenly Ever After
Korean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
Son Suk Ku must receive an award for his role. I believed they were a couple even with their enormous age difference. I didn't even waste time to remember the name of the show, I was always calling it SSK's drama lol Though obviously everyone in the cast has done an amazing job!! I bawled my eyes with them, especially on ep 11. and I think it's a plot hole the fact she didn't recognize her old self, especially since he did.
Loved how much they put effort into creating that after life world, it was super interesting to learn about heaven and hell, and it was great (and hilarious) seeing the master of both realms being played by the same guy. Wasn't that much fan of the dogs plot, but I'm just not an animal person, it bothered me in Tomorrow as well.
p.s I'm dying to have Han Ji Min's haircut. Love those bangs. I'll wait for summer to end and I'll do it :) but definitely not going to have her outfit. Why did she always wear that short skirt? she even had to wear like idols safety shorts underneath :/ -
13. The First Night with the Duke
Korean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
As a Soshi and Hottest I subjectively liked it. Objectively I know the drama wasn't that good, low quality, a lot of poor acting and overall was lucking in comparison to the OG material (my friend's words lol I haven't read it).
I did like it more than King the Land (way too centered on fan service and clichés) but it's obvious Yoona and Junho had much more chemistry! (maybe it's because Taec has a fiancée and Seohyun is still a newbie actress?). Their steaming scenes were good but simple romantic scenes weren't that good, and he was faking much of the gentle kisses he gave her.
Towards the end, it started dragging and I was afraid they'll do the (obvious) trick that was used in Kuning Palace but the king here was much more stupid and gullible. I do think the villains and semi-villains were very well written. Never seen Lee Tae Sun doing such an evil character, suits him well lol Though I didn't like that the girl got her redemption. She didn't deserve it. -
14. Love Scout
Korean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
The drama was really nice at first and gave us a glimpse of a career field that isn't often explored in dramas, yet towards the ending when they dived more into the personal relationship of the leads (and some past trauma ofc) they lost some of my interest. They were cute together but I liked more seeing them working on cases rather than loving, if that makes any sense. But I loved the kids interactions, the neighbors and coworkers too.
I'm happy though that I finally watched a drama of the ML. Somehow even though he's forever in the business, I never came across a project with him that I was curious about till now.. -
15. Dear Hongrang
Korean Drama - 2025, 11 episodes
So Jang Uk 1 - Jin Mu 1? lol but TBH when I was on ep 5 my friend spoiled me it's not a pleasant ending, and I just told her that I hope it won't be Jo Bo Ah (and I'm happy I protected her previously. When she gets normal script she does a great job).
I mean, it's very difficult after watching an actor doing a saguk masterpiece to separate it from a similar role. Unlike hers Destined With You which was only ok imo, I LOVED Alchemy S2 and I just couldn't stop thinking that I'll rewatch it while watching this production. It's hard to be very original in scenery and love stories in saguk and except it being more explicit this time around, it's obvious that it comes lacking in comparison. If I was Lee Jae Wook, I wouldn't take on this role and like Youn Jung, always would've try for a different genre. Also my heart hurt for him and the training and regime he had to endure probably. Guy was semi naked and fighting much of the series.
It was also pretty confusing how they forgot about the snow man and then got back to his plot then suddenly he disappeared again. Who was that guy anyways? left unclear. and like many others, I didn't like how they tried to suddenly make the older brother a villain. It was so out of character for him.
Also, a ML like Kim Jae Wook shouldn't take such small roles. He was impactful and acted superb but it's just not worth it. I want to see him as lead next time! Park Byung Eun also does already main lead roles but he had a lot of screen time so I guess it's okay. -
16. My Dearest Nemesis
Korean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
I’m so happy I started watching Twinkling Watermelon while I was watching this drama, as I was really anti the ML. Not only I dislike noona romances but he also felt unsuitable to play the big boss role. My occupational therapist has even compared him to Ahn Hyo Seop in Business Proposal, but I think it doesn’t give justice to the latter one.
Anyways, the role indeed wasn’t right for the ML (the serious parts) but his performance in TW was perfection that I got back to MDN in a more positive mindset.
Overall, the drama was nice, and I loved FL’s family. That being said, I got tired at some point of the second leads couple (why 2FL even agrees to such a small role?) and I didn’t buy the grandma’s apology, nor his forgiveness. A decades long resentment doesn’t disappear in a blink of an eye. -
17. The Prisoner of Beauty
Chinese Drama - 2025, 36 episodes
It took me so long to finish the last 5 eps of this drama. It was so good when it started. So much that my friend ran to read the novel, and since then everything went to ruins lol She kept telling me how different the novel was from the drama, and tbh the novel sounded better. What I loved at first in the drama was that they were rivals, but from some point (much before the novel) FL started acting like a lost loving puppy around the ML. Always wanted to get his favor, and not in a cunning way, but because she was head over heals for him. So much that she put aside her family and everything she cherished, cared and motivated her at the beginning of the drama. Don't get me wrong, they were cute together but I really hated how she chased after him as it was so out of character for her.
Unlike other dramas, I liked the side stories here and all the people who were around the FL and ML. Though I hate it when full figured people are only matched with other similarly looking. It's like it's out of the question that a hot guy will like a fatty girl.. (btw the other way around, happens much often)
p.s ML probably has something with costume dramas. Straight after this one he did A Dream Within A Dream. I read the favorable reviews (of my friend too) but I think I need a break from him lol -
18. Oh My Ghost Clients
Korean Drama - 2025, 10 episodes
It had some interesting, memorable and meaningful stories (like Ahn Nae Sang's and the Squid Game's grandma) but mostly the drama was dull and boring. Probably the execution wasn't correct cause the contact could've gone much better.
It seems Jung Kyung Ho has gave up on dramas and doing only comical roles, but its fine as it suits him much more imo. Seol In Ah and N aren't very critical and every actor/actress could've replaced them. I don't think any of them gave some spectacular performance, then again they had less to work with than the ghost characters or the villains. -
19. Our Movie
Korean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
It's as if Jeon Yeo Been has something with tragic scrips. It's always or she's sick or someone around her, like 75% of her dramas ( Vincenzo is the 25% that's left). On his part, it felt like Namgoong Min also wanted to continue with similar to My Dearest type of acting and role. As I didn't like him there, I didn't like him here.
I usually enjoy a good melodrama, but this one started so week. It did grew on me as I really felt for the FL but it started dragging again towards the end. Just a script that has way too many ups and downs. It's funny how many gave it a 10 rating but rated the story much lower..
And that ending? I watched it in regular speed (which was a torture by itself) and didn't understanding anything. I had to ask for clarifications in the drama's comments T_T
btw Am I the only who thought they had too many girls who look similar? I usually differentiate well, after that many years of watching Asian dramas, but it was a hard task this time. -
20. The Blossoming Love
Chinese Drama - 2025, 40 episodes
First completed 2025 drama!
So it was fine till ep 30 or so, and then they had to insert a parallel/old universe story (it's like it can't be a Wuxia drama without this sh*t) and everything became unclear. It got so confusing and too many stories at the same time that at first I lost track and then I just got bored. I swear, even Vin at this point stopped looking handsome in my eyes. If I would've ranked this drama by just the last 10 eps, it would've gotten a 3.
Have to mention though that it had a great OST and effects!
p.s The drama has a lesson for girls- If you put your eyes on a boy, and you're persistent enough, he'll eventually will come around and like you (or give you a restraining order. Whatever comes first lol) -
21. Salon De Holmes
Korean Drama - 2025, 10 episodes
I wanted to watch it since I saw the poster on Dasom's Instagram (SISTAR fan right here!) but her role was prob the smallest and the most insignificant. The drama itself started nice but very fast became the regular ajumma humor. Most of their husbands were really lucking, esp the police officer, who was of zero help except in the last ep.
What I do have to applaud them was that they built the villains story really well and it was, at least for me, a total surprise who they were, and it's been awhile since I was surprised from a revelation in a drama. -
22. S Line
Korean Drama - 2025, 6 episodes
Not an easy to digest drama, not the stories told nor the visual. Makes me think what attracts Da Hee to content of this sorts - L.U.C.A, Island and now this?
I think the "mystery" tag should be removed from this drama. It was thrilling at times but the big revelation wasn't a shock at all, and it's not even because they casted a famous actress. It's because their hints throughout the whole drama weren't subtle at all. Even clueless Lee Soo Hyuk eventually figured it out, only Arin, with the biggest knowledge on the topic, somehow was left in the dark and payed because of it the heaviest price.
But the story overall was innovative, quite interesting what would happen to a society where you can see Slines emerge of everyone's head. Will it bring shame to those that have many, or the contrary, to those less experienced? -
23. The First Frost
Chinese Drama - 2025, 32 episodes
I loved Hidden Love and was very exited for this drama, especially as it was such a hit when it aired but I was disappointed. Firstly, I think people should stop using the code "slow burn" for boring dramas that takes time for them to pick up. Only on ep 10, when she hugged him while sleepwalking I felt something. and it picked my curiosity only after ep 25 or more. I just don't know how to rank this drama and I'm conflicted as I didn't enjoy it, but I always felt butterflies in the main leads scenes. Towards the ending I got to the conclusion he was obsessed with the wrong girl. Even in real life, people move on from high school break ups, and she's really problematic (I know she was traumatized, but he doesn't have to be her salvation). Secondly, I don't know why Cdramas always try to connect ML's friend and FL's friend, and all the grandparents story was just irrelevant.
Acting wise, everyone done an amazing job. I was blown away by the FL and it's my third time seeing the ML, and I see him improve with each production. -
24. When the Stars Gossip
Korean Drama - 2025, 16 episodes
I wanted to watch some Sci-Fi and Netflix proposed me this drama. I went over the reviews and they startled me, way too may 1/10 - can this be that bad? or are those bots?
When I skipped this drama, I didn't like how it interrupted my viewing sequence of both Gong Hyo Jin (since 2010) and Lee Min Ho's (since 2009) dramas. and so eventually my sequence stayed intact and you know what, the drama wasn't that bad after all as the story was quite innovative. Yes it was lacking, they talked about s*x each episode, and their romance had zero creditability. I even screamed at the screen "pathetic" in their scenes together. Each of them had much more chemistry with their prior to journey partners. I waited for them to get back to earth as I thought exploring their lives would be more interesting but they got back to space asap. Her birth story was just bizarre and so was the birth in space. Couldn't understand why LMH took so hard all the IVF process, but people who go through it as well might find this drama a bit hard to watch.
I loved the most the teammates interactions (still can't believe the actress playing the twins ain't Pyo Ye Jin. They look the same!) and laughed the most at the epilogue where GHJ gave her real sign to Jo Jung Suk. Glad for his cameo lol -
25. Tastefully Yours
Korean Drama - 2025, 10 episodes
Watched it from beginning to end for Ha Neul but I'm not sure I'll follow with his next production. He has lots of misses in recent years.
The drama had many clichés and that old Kdrama vibe that I don't like, though I have to admit the last 2 eps were quite good (and so the rating got higher a bit). I thought at first it's a bit similar to My Dearest Nemesis, but here thankfully we haven't seen a sudden 180 degrees change of the CEO in the last episode (maybe just 15 degrees? ;)
Unbelievable they tried selling us Go Min Si, Ha Neul and Yoo Yeon Seok are same aged. Overall, couldn't understand why the latter one agreed to make such a long guest appearance. His character was more annoying than many of the Moto workers, and that says a lot. Ridiculous also how its' beautiful chef and manager suddenly decided to quit and start from the bottom. Very off character for them. -
26. The Potato Lab
Korean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
A slightly better version of Brewing Love but not enough to waste your time. Not only that but I think it's the worst role I've seen the ML play and I watched him being the evil guy in Nokdu. FL was fine but she doesn't grow on me, and I've seen her in a few productions already, so I'm not sure I'll stick with another one.
I know many liked the 2ML but I haven't noticed any growth from him and maybe we even could've lived just fine without the 2FL (even though she's at fault for breaking 2ML and FL)..
p.s Found it very stupid they made FL portray someone older than ML by 2 years when they're same age in real life. -
27. Flourished Peony
Chinese Drama - 2025, 32 episodes
Go Go Squid is in my TOP5 favorite Cdramas so I was really excited for the reunion of the main leads, yet something this time around was off. I even wished for her to end up with the 2ML (an idiot who grew a spine way too late). The beginning was fine with the family intrigues and so the last part, but the middle part dragged too much and was full with filler scenes that make you lose interest.
FL suffered through many misfortunes but thankfully met time after time people who cherished her and became a family. and so you can really see how Yang Zi grew as an actress from their previous project, unlike Li Xian. But be fair, he also didn't have a lot to work with, his character wasn't complex nor interesting/special enough.
Hated the OST. -
28. Karma
Korean Drama - 2025, 6 episodes
Yoo Jae Suk talked with his fellow RM members on his YouTube channel positively about the drama so I had to check it out. Turns out he's a good friend (as Kwangsoo indeed done an amazing job and worth the praise) but a terrible liar. The drama isn't good (esp Kwangsoo's portion), and when I searched it, It seemed I've started it previously and dropped it.
Yes it got a bit better after Shin Mina's story was incorporated, but I can't really rate a 6 eps drama, only by the later half of it. and It's not that those first 3 eps were that essential, it didn't give us the whole background. We eventually kept getting it through flashbacks.
And you know what, I mostly pity Kim Nam Gil and Park Hae Soo who signed up on this Netflix deal and now have to keep appearing in their mediocre productions. They do get probably a fortune, but still, if you came to this business stay true to yourself and do some great stuff from time to time.
btw Has anyone understood the last scene with the watch? I stayed confused to the last bit lol -
29. The Witch
Korean Drama - 2025, 10 episodes
Had to complete it before starting Jinyoung's new drama (which is amazing btw, totally recommend). This drama is hella confusing. On paper it was supposed to be a really interesting one, and the first 2 eps were good but the plot was just everywhere, I couldn't keep up and I was getting more confused by the second. The penultimate episode cleared some things up but not enough and the last episode has provided new questions. So was his friend and the FL (who almost had no screen time!) were similar? Exactly similar? Same rules apply for both? Did he sat his coworker just to see if it'll work for the friend too? How did he survive the fall from the bridge and why they had to specifically meet abroad?
-
30. Good Boy
Korean Drama - 2025, 16 episodes
I don't know why Park Bo Gum did this drama. It's beyond imagination the fact he's the ML of the best drama of 2025 and also the worst (well almost. Motel California is, but this stays close). And why would he think it's interesting? It's a stupid concept - athletes that become police officers? I do think that on their part, it's Kim So Hyun's and Sang Yi's best acting roles. Everyone did a good job, I personally didn't like that Oh Jung Se, Go Jun and especially Man Shik were made the bad guys, they were so mean T_T
My favorite part was when Ho Jung Kissed PBG's kiss and told him he's a Good Boy. Overall, her scenes were my favorite. (second favorite was when Sang Yi told PBG to stop smiling so he won't fall for him. I get you, I'm not even crushing on him and still can't resist that smile).
But Ho Jung's weren't in charge for his kisses solely. PBG practically ate KSH, I was shocked! I didn't even know he's capable of it lol
p.s the product placement was just too much! Especially when they filmed scenes from few angles to show the hamburger brand but didn't notice that the actors hands were placed differently in a "one long scene" (but definitely not "one shot")
p.s2 It's like they learned from the Americans and Russians are always the bad guys. but I thought everyone is boycotting Russia? How come S.Korea is still trading with them? lol Though I have to applaud them for hiring real Russian actors, the accent was good, even Go Jun did a nice job. -
31. Way Back Love
Korean Drama - 2025, 6 episodes
My dear fellow 95-96 line chingus, please stop portraying high school characters! Enough is enough! You (and me) don't look like we're 10 years younger, especially the cast of this drama.
TBH I was very curious about this drama. Kim Min Ha doesn't do many project so I thought this might be some interesting production, but on ep 2 I got to understand that my expectations were high for no reason. I didn't like the drama at all, and as it progressed I just disliked it more and more. It was so weird how main leads character changed that much after his death. Like I know that trauma does many things, but both of them got the total opposite, as if they immersed themselves in the other's name they took.
The only silver lining was their family interactions and ML's friend (I felt like I knew him from somewhere but only after I completed the drama, I checked it out and learned he appeared in Extraordinary You. There he felt average as Jae Wook and Rowon are tall as a tree but here he looked taller than already tall Gong Myung so I didn't connect the dots lol)
btw Where was Shin Eun Kyung all these years? I think it's my first time seeing her in a decade.. -
32. Motel California
Korean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
Is it too early to crown it as the worst drama of the year? I sure hope there won't be worse ones *fingers-crossed*
I don't understand people who were arguing with me to prove it is a melodrama, cause it isn't. (and I'm telling it as a big melodrama fan)
The only good thing was the casting of Lee Se Young & Cha Min Soo (whom I didn't recognized at first with that beard) - but I definitely didn't like their characters. Actually the normal characters were only the Seoul crew, especially 2ML. The hotel steward was also nice at times. ML's mom was just a b*tch and with this type of mother in-law, I too would've ran away!
The OST was great! Though I think it's a miss they didn't include some version of 'Hotel California' in it as well lol
