Yoon Seok Hwa was a South Korean musical and theater actress. She graduated from Geumran Girls' High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Drama and Performing Arts from New York University

She made her debut in 1975 as part of a folk theater company with a role in the play "Honey Taste". She frequently appeared in musicals and plays until 2007 when she became involved in a major fraud controversy. She always claimed to be an alumna of Ehwa despite only having 1 year of credited courses and having attended a high school affiliated with the university.

In 2007, she confessed, in a handwritten note, to having forged her academic credentials. Her explanation never convinced the media or the public, so she moved to Hong Kong for several years. Further suspicions of tax evasion followed her but were never proven by the authorities. She returned to South Korea and had supporting roles in several dramas and continued to appear on stage plays.

In October 2022, she collapsed after performing "Hamlet" in the United Kingdom and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She underwent surgery and, in August 2023, she decided to stop all medical treatments and only focus on natural and holistic procedures.

On December 19, 2025, she passed away, at the age of 69, due to the brain cancer at Sinchon Severance Hospital in Seoul.
