He debuted in September 2008 as part of the duo MAN OF K (맨 오브 케이; M.O.K.) along Kim Myung Hoon with the album "Music is my BOB" but they were not very successful.
In 2011, they decided to participate in the competition show, "Superstar K 3", eventually ending as the winners. He became the group's leader and lead vocalist after previous leader, Lim Yoon Taek, died due to cancer in 2013. They faced a rough period of several changes and had several years of low productivity.
In 2015, he became part of sub-unit ULALA PRAISE (울랄라 프레이즈) with their 1st full-length album "Sunny Day". This sub-unit stop releasing new material in 2019 when Ha Jun Seok opted to leave the group. In 2022, he convinced fellow bandmates to participate in the competition "Sing Again 2" and managed to reach the top 10.
