Lim Yoon Taek was a South Korean singer-songwriter and the leader of the boy band "Ulala Session". He attended Seoul Institute of the Arts but could not complete his degree in Broadcasting Entertainment. The university later awarded him a posthumous honorary degree. Ulala Session made their debut in 2011 with the single "With You" but for a long time, the band was not well-known in South Korea as it was abroad so they decided to participate in the singing competition "Superstar K 3". In the show, the band started to gain popularity and it gained the sympathy of the viewers when Lim revealed he was suffering from cancer. People thought Lim's cancer was fake in order to gain more votes on the show until Lim brought his doctor on TV to confirm the diagnosis. Lim and Ulala Session eventually won the competition and went on to more appearances on Korean television. Unfortunately, Lim passed away at Yonsei University Severance Hospital on February 2013 after battling stomach cancer. He was married and had one daughter in 2012.
