Assistant Professor Dr. Parida Manomaiphibul is currently Head of Chulalongkorn University’s Department of Dramatic Arts, where she teaches playwriting. She finished her Ph.D. in Performance Practice at University of Exeter, United Kingdom, where her research through practice focuses on how to use performance writing to explore Thai women’s tendency for escapism as reflected in Thai soap operas and the identity of Thai women affected by westernization and cultural imperialism. Her area of interest includes story telling, performance writing, postcolonial theatre, gender and theatre, and drama in education.
