Nolasco won the Premio Zobel in 1979 for his writings in Spanish in such publications as El Debate, La Opinion and Academia Filipino. But the multi-talented Nolasco was also a discoverer of stars, among them Rosa Rosal, Leila Morena, Lilia Dizon, Eddie del Mar, Pilar Padilla and Vida Florante.
