Honorio Lopez is an author and historian who wrote the famous "Dimasalang Kalendariong Tagalog", the first almanac in Tagalog published by a Filipino in 1922. He also wrote several books of narrative poetry about the lives of national heroes.

In 1912, Lopez played the role of Jose Rizal in the film "La Vida de Rizal", the first film made in the Philippines. It was first aired at the Teatro Zorilla in Manila on August 24, 1912.
