In 2019, he was a trainee for KJ Music Entertainment (케이제이뮤직엔터테인먼트, formerly known as JSL Company), and he was part of pre-debut group EIGHT (에잇). They were set to debut, but the agency kept moving the date, and eventually, they disbanded by the end of the year.
In 2022, he debuted as a soloist (using the stage name oi) with the singles "MMA" and "Delete". He also appeared in "Stars Awakening" and, after the show, signed a contract with Nature Space (네이처 스페이스).
He was set to debut as the leader of VI'ENX. In April 2023, the group released a pre-debut single album titled "On My Way", but the agency kept delaying their debut date for undisclosed reasons.
In November 2023, he released the single "illailla" using his current stage name, JN.
As of late 2024, 3 out of the 5 members have already left the agency while him and Kwon Ye Ung are doing individual activities, hinting at possible disbandment before even officially debuting.
