James HUNG is a Hong Kong-Chinese born director. He furthered his studies in the USA in 2000. After graduation from the Department of Film at California State University, Long Beach in 2007, he worked for Technicolor as assistant project manager on post-production.

In 2009, Hung returned to Hong Kong and joined Television Broadcasts’ drama section as production assistant. In 2011, he formed his own production company; the following year, his creative idea for The Seventh Lie won the favour of film administrator Tenky Tin, who undertook to complete financing for the project. In 2013, the film went into production officially with funding support from the Film Development Fund, starring popular actors such as Ronald Cheng and Him Law. Apart from directing, Hung also worked as screenwriter and editor.
