Kim Hyun Jung (not to be confused with the singer of the same name) is a South Korean former actress turned painter. She graduated from Baewha Women’s College with a degree in Traditional Clothing and also from Korea Open University with a degree in English Language and Literature. She made her debut in 1999 with a role in the drama "Kwangki" and she appeared steadily in at least one drama per year, mainly on MBC. However, in 2009, she abruptly decided to quit acting and underwent psychological counseling and training at a Catholic Volunteer Center. She then decided to become a full-time painter as she thought her paintings could provide healing. In 2012, she began writing an art column reviewing her own paintings and in 2017 the Catholic Peace Newspaper also began publishing her column. She held her first solo exhibition in 2014.
