Lee Ae Suk, also known by her English name Cathy Anne Lee, is a South Korean singer and lead vocalist of the legendary group originally known as Arirang Singers, later known as Koreana. She graduated from John Marshall High School in Los Angeles, USA after living in South Korea and Germany before that. She then obtained a professional bachelor's degree from the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences in Bern, Switzerland. She joined Koreana in 1980 as the lead vocalist after winning the Grand Prize in a singing contest in West Germany in 1977. She became well known when Koreana was selected to perform the song "Hand in Hand" that became the official song of the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. She performed the song in both English and Korean. The group was formed at a time where TV promotions were nearly impossible to obtain so she made her her first TV appearance in 2004 and then she was named Public Relations Ambassador for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. She now appears as a guest in some talk shows on Channel A and other smaller networks.
